He is not needed now, is he? However, as he is still there, and as a lot of posters seem to think it wasn't such an important Cup match yesterday, why not play Speroni in that match? - it would have been a record-breaking 389th appearance in goal for Palace.

I still wish he had been used in goal a year ago when his injury had healed. However, that is in the past, and time moves on.

I wonder why Jules stays.

You do understand all clubs need 3 keepers, right? One gets injured then you need a no.2

John Jackson was the King of the Palace and in my book still is. Nigel Martyn came close but JS is or was way behind. Much as I rate JS Jacko was in a different era and it was a travesty of justice that he never played for England. I met him one night on East Croydon station, on his way home from the game, like myself. I shook his hand. Legend that man
As I say, different era.

You do all also realise (especially the JCLs - post 2010) If it weren't for Speroni we wouldn't even be a prem team?

Watch this [Link] 1min 47 seconds. That goes in, and we'd lost. Speroni saved us from relegation to L1 the season before. He's going nowhere and deserves a retirement package for the hundreds of millions he has inadvertently earnt our club.

Jules should be given a job within the club as South American Ambassador / Scout. Mind you, I also think Attilio should be given the same role for us in Europe.

People have very short memories. Jules deserves maximum respect

Not that long ago, that Chelsea (vs Reading) saw all three of their keepers play in one game.

In honesty, I think we lucky to have a third choice keeper who is experienced at his level, as most teams third choice keeper rarely has ever played regularly at any level.

His importance in keeping us up in the administration year, was as vital as Ambrose. Its entiarely possible without the contribution of those two players, we might well be trying to replicate AFC Wimbledon's story

If we had an injury to either Mandanda or Hennessey Jules would be our reserve goalie on the bench each week!

I also think he might get some sort of a coaching role at the end of this season.

Hes still here because he is a legend and is still a good quality No3 keeper. I never want Jules to leave our club. He should have a job here in some capacity for as long as he wants
