Would have to be chauffeuring 24/7 and getting some hefty tips to be living nextdoor to aquickgame2 in Knightsbridge. Hackbridge and I'd say you'd be right

I've no idea how much training time should be undertaken by players. I guess that's why we have a coaching staff and physios etc.

Do you advocate running them into the ground everyday, so they are knackered on match days.
It may of escaped your notice, the players are monitored to death with fitness analytical data, so I think clubs know what is right for the players.

Running them into the ground dont be absurd...2/3 hours... lets try a bit harder shall we.
You may recall a well known golfer called Gary Player who in his day was the worlds number one,he came out with a famous line "The harder I practise the luckier I became"...I'll let you work that out.

Assuming the poster above s correct and it is Flamini, I would imagine he currently has a different training regime to many other players who did pre-season and play regularly.

Fitness wise you would only expect an hour of cardio type training of varying intensities.

Then a bit of a kick about, those with knocks see the physio etc.

Beginning of the week review previous performance, middle and end work on drills etc for next match.

In between which there may be some strength training or specific rehab work.

Comparing to golf is a false analogy, whilst I would expect the likes of Punch, Cabaye, Townsend to practice set pieces, they can't practice to the same extent that Player could practice putting

I hope you have a telescope and binoculars trained on his house - and a little black journal to take notes of times in and out?

This isn't Jimmy Grimble bud. You're talking about elite athletes, it's about peaks and troughs. At different points of the season the team will work harder than others which will be based on a number of factors: form, fitness, team performance.
And it will differ player to player. How do you think your body would respond to 2/3 hours a day of training/gym work? Or would it be okay and the meagre 90 minutes on a Saturday just be a walk in the park as a result?

How do you come to the conclusion that based on snippets of information and watching two games a week you are in a position to suggest players don't train hard enough?

Not a very good analogy golf and football are 2 very different sports. Standing stationary swinging a golf club and running for 2-4 hours, I will let you work out the difference!
