Howe would be my first choice followed by Wenger then Klinsmann. Eddie Howe seems very happy where he is, I can't see Arsene being interested although it would take him a step nearer his full retirement, so bring on Jurgen Klinsmann.

The advantage Arsene has now than before is his contract runs out at the end of the season and he said he wouldn't chose to leave them until his contract had run out. So he's in a different situation than last time England were going for a new manager.

If the FA's aim is to seriously challenge for tournament honour, then no English manager is fit to do the job. Of the names being touted around - Wenger, Hiddink, Scolari, Klinsman - all have decent pedigree and at least might bring some new thinking to the national side.

If I was English I certainly would not want Wenger as national manager. His record with English /British players is abysmal. Walcott was more highly rated than our Gareth when he joined Arsenal, he has stagnated, same with Wiltshire & oxlade chamberlain etc. Ramsey before he joined Arsenal was an unbelievable talent & was ruined by Wenger as well.
