Sorry to burst everyone's bubble but unless someone can find a quote from John Moss saying what he saw when the challenge was made then you are all pissing in the wind. As usual you have people aggressively arguing a point that can never be proved either way as it 100% open to interpretation unless the guilty party enlightens the lot of us.Did he see imaginary contact from his viewpoint or did he forget to award an in-direct free kick?Is he blind or did he forget the rules? None of you know but you stomp your feet regardless, its f***ing embarrassing.

yeah but he's so high up the list, they're his rules now, they obey him, not vice versa!

I should apologise to Willo/Mark. St Mark does indeed understand the advantage rule - a good ref should always give Manchester United the advantage, Mark is a leading expert in the field.

Can i just add that before the Delaney incident,i believe Ward is fouled by/shirt pulled, lukaku infringing him ,and leading to the later incident.

No.

You are completely wrong.

Moss didn't need the help of cameras, slow-mo's or different angles.

All he needed was a proper knowledge of the laws of the game.

If he had the proper knowledge then he would have awarded an indirect kick for Delaney's offence (assuming he didn't see the handball by Jagielka).

Instead he incorrectly awarded a direct free kick which allowed Lukaku to fire home.

End of discussion for you Willo, there is no need for further input from you - thanks very much for your observations.

The way it is sounding, Moss should be sent to the gallows when he didn't have the benefit of numerous cameras, and numerous replays in "Slo-Mos".And as I have said before, if those in the 'Wall' had done their job there wouldn't be this discussion.

..if Lukaku's shot had gone along the ground they would have done their job, everyone enjoys watching De Bruyne.

I have consistently stated that referees are only human and as such DO make err from time to time, as do managers, players etc etc.

I have also consistently stated that we all have the benefit of umpteen replays etc etc etc whereas a referee has to make a split-second decision in real-time and often his view is obscured by players in his/her way.I can totally understand why they get some decisions wrong.

What I do find galling is the assertion that a PL referee doesn't know "Advantage" or doesn't properly know all the laws. This is totally and utterly ridiculous. There is one thing knowing them and another applying them and of course from time to time they don't apply them correctly for reasons which I have already explained.

I think you are right in that the refs DO know the laws of the game. The point I think that you consistently miss is that they do not apply them to a consistent level, and whether that is error or deliberate is the thing I cannot get my head around. Your boyfriend clearly knows advantage but failed to allow it for us, which would have led to a credible scoring opportunity and, I suspect, a goal. However, in my personal opinion, he does not seem to make such mistakes in favour of the 'big' teams. The pally pally bit with SAF just wound everybody up and was another error of judgement on the day. Jon Moss just took the easy decision, in a home game and has probably looked at it again and realised he had a very poor game. For that he should be demoted for a while because it was a bad decision.
None of this makes the people that pay a lot of money to watch the game feel any better and we feel robbed by inconsistency, ineptitude or something else perhaps? Your defence of all these errors as 'mistakes' is laudable but just for a moment open your mind and consider if it is possible that there could be something else? £70k wages in a game sloshing with so much money is like asking a cashier in a bank to pay to come to work. The lowest paid person on the pitch - with the greatest control. Is there temptation and would anyone give in? (Purely my own personal musings).

We need a new referee song. Something along the lines of:

The referees Willo in disguise
He's Willo in disguise
He's f***ing Willo in disguise

What a c***
What a c***
He's Willo in disguise.

(Not condoning bad language at football matches but Willo does deserve his own song)

It is very rare for a free-kick to be scored under a wall with most kicks aimed over such a wall.We all saw Mandanda's reaction after the goal was scored.

Are you seriously suggesting that Moss should be demoted because of a single decision ?

After each game there is a robust and forensic examination of the performance of the referee by 'Match delegates' etc with 'ProZone' used etc etc. This happens after each and every game and IF any referee consistently falls below the required standard he will be demoted - just ask Stuart Attwell ! Jon Moss is still on the list.

I'm NOT getting into any of the accusations made against Clattenburg as I have already answered all these 'Charges' and will refrain from getting involved in any further discussions involving Mark as it only provides ammunition to the 'Bait layers'.
