Tough on Wickham, tough on the causes of Wickham.
The midfield do, justifiably, have more confidence in Benteke holding the ball up so will commit themselves forward more readily and in doing so will recycle the ball in the opponent's half also creating more chances for themselves.MacArthur.
Wickham is a deputy who, if he proves himself on the training field to our midfielders, can also hopefully inspire this confidence.(This is the "causes of Wickham" bit.Show to your team mates you are worth supporting).

Because arguably if Wickham had got the same service
Meaning at every possible opportunity a ball gets played into the box he also would have done better in front of goal

Yes Benteke is good
But Klopp didn't sell him because he thought he was THAT good he HAD to keep him , did he ??
No, Liverpool play to a different style
Just as we now play to a very different style

I can see your point, but Wickham would never in a million years of scored that goal by Benteke

I'm a fan of Wickham, but he is not there yet, and maybe watching ben-tekkers in training every day will improve him to a point, where he can genuinely challenge for a place on the pitch. That is of course if he can stay injury free long enough

Did you watch the FA Cup semi-final? What a header that was from Wickham.

He's got the potential, but he needs to pay attention to the wider range of craft and movement that Benteke has and improve his game.

I really like Wickham, but it's really great to see a striker playing for us capable of scoring Premier League goals out of nothing. Benteke is simply a class above. He's not even had a pre season!

Wickham needs to get more of that strikers instinct about him. Benteke makes runs and generally does his work in the top third of hte pitch. When you see the average position of players, Benteke is always the furthest forward, as he should be, Wickham can be 3rd or 4th furthest forward at times. I like Wickhma, think he offers a lot but needs to be in the box more rather than out wide and putting in crosses.

Oh yes, (as the Churchill bulldog would say) ...he's an absurd waste out there. Look at the crackers he's scored in front of goal.

I think it's quite obvious to everyone watching that we are crossing the ball a lot more this season, its getting crossed at every opportunity especially from the fullbacks.

Last season - 26 crosses per game (most in league)
This season - 28 crosses per game (most in league)

Not a lot of difference...

I think Wickham is solid backup to Benteke, but is just not in the same league in terms of movement and aerial ability.

Prem careers:
Benteke - 8.2 aerial duels won per game
Wickham - 3.2 aerial duels won per game
