I like a lot of their stuff, but not all of it.

I've bought loads of their albums on vinyl in the past but recently bought "Echoes" on CD which contains most of the stuff I like.

Fearless.... I love the way the song builds and then fades into the Kop singing their anthem.

Classic.

And punk isn't pretentious? lol.

It was totally manufactured.

Two words. Jimmy Pursey. It was pinched from American bands like the New York Doll and The Dictators and then Anglicised by the likes of Malcolm Maclaren, It was then made a fashion statement by Vivian Westwood.

Given that, your statement was even more unreasonable.

Wasn't Blondie regarded as punk in the US? Not exactly Pistols or the Clash. OK I will give you Da Ramones

Who pinched their act from Bowie and the Stones. Thunders so wanted to be Keef. I think the Stooges were better

Punk was more fashion than musical style. It was also really about the movement toward the independent production of music.

I like comfortably numb. It's a great song and a superb piece of storytelling. I freely admit I am Not familiar with their other music apart from another brick in the wall
