Cabaye just slows us up.

Punch likes the ball early with a bit of space.

As long as he does not do his pirouette with the ball Jason is great!

Really hadn't thought that his good form is down to Cabaye's absence. Maybe there are some stats somewhere that can back this up.

Interesting - I've felt last season and start of this that Punch played the ball far too slowly - he's noticeably changed that the last few games (in my opinion) - funny how people watch the same thing and think 2 totally different things - bit like when you watch a match and then read the ratings in the paper the next day and wonder if the journo was even there.

Usually for me (and I'm not necessarily referring to any specific manager) I sometimes wonder whether I am watching the same game as the gaffer.

Townsend has replaced puncheon on free kicks, which is frustrating as puncheon is far better. Their was a bit of tension towards the end of the everton gAme whereby punch was lining one up and then towsend comes over to take the free kick, punch doesnt want townsend to take, so townsend turns to the manager who tells punch to leave it... Did anyone notice this?

Very true. I wonder what goes on behind the scenes sometimes that leads to the strange things we see on a Saturday.

Yes I noticed this, made the same assumption as you as to what happened but I guess it could just have easily been that there was bird s*** on the ball, Punch wanted to wipe it off and Townsend didn't - Punch then asked Pardew's opinion who said leave it, hopefully it will catch Moss in the face as retribution for his moody decisions. Incidentally, I actually (begrudgingly) think all his decisions were right except for Lukakus free kick should have been indirect.

Also I actually think Townsend delivery is very decent so I'm not disappointed to see either taking.

Lets face it, even when everyone was saying Punch was out of form last season, he still possessed that touch of class every so often

Also just seen this stat:

Most chances created in Europe's top 5 leagues so far this season:

R. Boudebouz (29)
J. Puncheon (24)
A. Di Maria (24)
L. Lima (24)

Interesting that Lima is also performing well.

How has Lucas Lima got those stats for playing in Europe exactly ? Or have you added him on for comparison ?
