Against teams that don't come onto us as much, you need some real footballing intelligence to up them up and I don't think we have had that kind of player since Paul Gascoigne.

The only other tactic is to go at them and commit the players infront of you to open up options. Sadly, our players just don't seem to want to do that - I don't think I ever since a player go so backward from his attacking instincts as Theo Walcott.

The only players I think of that has that capability are Ross Barkley (who is dreadfully out of form) and our own Andros Townsend (who is dropped in favour of the aforementioned Walcott).

You don't really get players like Gazza, Merson, Le Tiss' any more for whatever reason. Perhaps they don't make it though the academies. But we're desperately missing a creative maverick.
