Shardlake is a lawyer based at lincolns inn during Henry v111 reign. All the fictional characters are woven into Tudor life in London. Highly reccomended. Janet and John (and Pat the dog), cant believe i never twigged that, are still classics.

I touched on the Kevin Bridges autobiography, We Need to Talk About...Kevin Bridges, on another thread recently and feel it deserves another mention here. I was interested to learn a bit more about him as I've really enjoyed his stand-up performances over the past few years. Not having yet reached the age of 30, he might seem a bit young to write his life story but the book gave a fascinating insight into his upbringing and how he got to where he is today, and was also as funny in many parts as I had hoped. His recollections of playing Subbuteo and Football Manager were particular highlights while his memories of leaving school and making his own way in life are ones many of us can probably relate to. I touched on the Kevin Bridges autobiography, We Need to Talk About...Kevin Bridges, on another thread recently and feel it deserves another mention here.

I was interested to learn a bit more about him as I've really enjoyed his stand-up performances over the past few years. Not having yet reached the age of 30, he might seem a bit young to write his life story but the book gave a fascinating insight into his upbringing and how he got to where he is today, and was also as funny in many parts as I had hoped. His recollections of playing Subbuteo and Football Manager were particular highlights while his memories of leaving school and making his own way in life are ones many of us can probably relate to.

I downloaded the audio version of the book, which is unabridged and read by kev.i.n himself, from Audible but it is also available in paperback.

Agree it's funny, but in reality it is not an autobiography but a succession of funny events he has made up to get a laugh.... eg the mountain bike to Mohammed story at Hyde Park.
