before being relegated the season before

Of course! So based on that, let's f*ck this season off, get relegated and marvel at how amazing he is as we go up as Champions and come back to the Prem wiser & stronger 😳

SP would boot Pardew out before January if there was a points danger of relegation. Last season there wasn't and several reasons for that awful run which kept his job.

Because of that I'll probably accept the frustrations. Any bad runs from here will no doubt see him go so in SP he won't go all ostrich on it.

As for spend heavily, what was the net spend again?
Also like I said, decent manager, not great, or did you chose to ignore that point too?

I think it's fair to reflect from 1st Jan mate as it's been a sustained run of poor form and managers usually live/die by a run of form eh! All the pro Pardew brigade have to reference results over a year ago + so their argument for sticking him him stand up eh

Wigan were promoted as Champions last season under Caldwell and he has been sacked after 14 league games this season.Similarly, Zenga has only lasted 14 league games.Trollope took over Cardiff this year after they finished 8th last campaign and he was sacked recently after 11 games with the club in 23rd place.

And you don't think the fact we had pretty much secured our position in the league by Christmas, was under no real pressure to achieve anything other than premiership survival and a cup run taking us to the fa cup final had any impact on our form over the second half of the season.

And tbf to pardew his only been here just under 2 years and inherited a pretty poor squad in the first place. We are only here because we was lucky enough pulis was out of a job.

Agree with 1st paragraph but find it unacceptable. A manager, with his 'experience', should be able to weather the storm in that time and I can't believe he was under no real pressure to sort it! This is business at the end of the day ...

As I said before, any references I make are based on the time we have sustained continual wobbly / questionable league form. If we had not one a few games recently I think he's now he the 1st management casualty in the Prem ... and that wouldn't be unwarranted either after 10 months of pony league results!

Clearly the "Anti-Pardew" voices will reach a crescendo if we lose to Liverpool on Saturday. This of course will be a 3rd consecutive defeat !

People who want pardew out are entitled to their opinion. those who are happy with our league position are likewise entitled to their happiness. All I ask is for people to remember it is just a forum and does not lay down the rules for deciding if you are worthy of supporting of the club.

However I would just suggest that after the signings that have been made at palace and looking at the teams we have played I personaly would have expected more points, and thus be higher up the table.
Yes , sorry to break it to some people but we are still to play most of the big boys and if we dont bang a few goals past the likes of hull we are not going to progress let alone cement a place in the premiership.

What doesnt help pardews cause is the comments he makes post game when we lose such as " if we had scored first we would have won" ( no one could ever say if this is true) or "we didnt play our normal game today" (when we clearly have).

To sum up I am frustrated with pardews handling of the manager role but dont sack him now its far,far too early.

Why not go from the beginning of the season then? We were 5 unbeaten at one point and we are still mid table.

He deserved criticism last season, of course he did but to ignore his successes is hardly fair.

We are a million miles behind most if not all premiership clubs and a fair way behind a lot of championship clubs. We are in the first real stable period for as long as I can remember. Mid table should be considered success and anything beyond that a bonus.

As for Pardew being judged on results, as has been mentioned before he has the best win rate since Bruce and is one of our most successful managers in modern times.

the dignified don't even enter in the game
