Can we just stop that blinking awful run when creating these stats or Pards ain't gonna stand a chance winning over any slaters is he?
We need to look forward to the next 9 matches and see if we can double our points and cement our mid table position.
Can you see 3 wins and 2 draws in this little lot?
Crystal Palace v Liverpool - draw?
Burnley v Crystal Palace - win?
Crystal Palace v Man City - draw?
Swansea v Crystal Palace - win?
Crystal Palace v Southampton - win?
Hull v Crystal Palace - win?
Crystal Palace v Man Utd - draw?
Crystal Palace v Chelsea - draw?
Watford v Crystal Palace - draw?

I do see what Pardew is trying longer term with passing from the back but when I see Delaney and a right footed left back and Ledley in front of them which inevitably ends up with either panic or a long punt up to nobody around Benteke or Gayle last season I do wonder why philosophy cannot be overridden by shot term instructions. Old dog and new tricks. You have 3 players in a triangle who won't get to grips with it and with opposition fully aware of it you have a problem

With Cabaye fully back it might be different but it won't be as easy as he had it in his 1st season.

I wouldnt mind seeing Ledley at left back until the transfer window opens

Remember our most successful season under coppell, even that was dire to watch. This is without a doubt the best team we've ever had and people still moan.

Very true.
Sir Steve is a God, but the football was atrocious to watch. His football philosophy, thankfully changed after he left us, but under him we were a long ball bunch of bully boys.

And we go to Europe and get a manager that gives us one great season. Then he just uses us as a stepping stone like koeman, pochettino and goes to a bigger Club and we are back to square 1

Out of interest, how do you think we would fare if all EPL teams concentrated on getting results and playing to their strengths which is apparently your rather simplistic view of footballing success. Or are you suggesting that every other team is playing to their maximum potential except CPFC?

I get a bit frustrated that some of our own supporters do not seem to understand that we do not have strength in depth because we are only a fifth year EPL club. We simply haven't got the clout to pay £50-60k per week for back up players to sit on the bench and frankly the players of quality we would need to cover every position wouldn't want to sit on the bench at Palace - not yet. Demanding instant or near instant success also means that we will only ever buy in first XI players from now on. So forget youth development. If the fan base will not allow time for a change in playing style, experimenting with youth players has got no chance.

It isn't my view of "success" at all, merely a more appropriate approach for where we are now than talking as though we're Barcelona. For the time being, anyway.

Funnily enough you go on to cite some of the reasons why I said what I said, so perhaps you'd better check that you disagree with me before biting my head off.

And I don't give a twopenny toss what other clubs do because I don't support them.

This is where thereabouts one of the issues lies.

We just need to survive and a bit more without season long danger. AP will probably deliver. The problems with overhauling is not one a chairman with a long term plan views as good business, and that includes football club business as well, especially when the club is 25 to 30 years behind the field and all the plans SP has. We just have to accept it if we don't like it for whatever reason.

The smugness from some fans was almost as cringeworthy as the smugness from himself after beating stoke Sunderland and Boro.

In the last 31 (yes, 31) games we've won 5 - that includes the 3 mentioned above.

Someone please make a case given our first 11, which genuinely has quality, that that is good enough.

All this "team in transition" is aload of turd as well. When we win games like we did against stoke it's because of the players we have on the pitch and the fact Pardew likes high intensity and power. Besides that he is clearly tactically inept - I thought that even when we were on a good run.

Expecting to get a fair bit of abuse and contemplated saying anything but in fairness I don't really care - some people really need to wake up.

Yes it's absolutely outrageous. We have played 9 games and are only 11th in the table. Any other manager would have had us in the top 3 and flying high....let's keep changing managers until that happens...it will so work.
As for changing style, retaining possession and playing out from the back ... yes let's give up on that too. I really miss watching that old Palace that couldn't string 3 passes together and would just hoof it out and hope for a lucky bounce.

To answer the question succinctly. No

Clearly you're not a fan - fair enough. But your argument is silly. We've only won 5 out of 31...but you want someone to make the case that is acceptable given our CURRENT starting 11???!!!!

Anyway...What's he done this season that's so wrong? We're creating chances and not being ripped apart.

You would have to admit it was bad luck to lose Punch at such short notice - he's a key player for us as is Soare and of course Dann.

As for the game. We could have been one nil up had Benteke's header in the first half not hit the post.

Do you think that Manure were good enough today with their starting 11? Think they should fire Jose?

Teams and individuals play badly sometimes. Yesterday I thought we had a number of poor performances. But is that the coach's fault? If it happens too often maybe but we've had some good games so far this season.

We are 11th in the league. That'll do a quarter of the way into the season.

He is more ill than Sickboy I fear.

And I very much doubt he could name a replacement.

Irony doesn't exist on this board. But sarcasm and insult is rife.

Hope that helps.....
