Academisation will still go through esp. given councils now knowing that big savings can be made along with outsourcing of all advisory services etc.

Regrettably, trade unions including NUT jumped upon issue when stable door was proverbially long flapping....

All good except the above, and the premise for this thread, isn't true.

The bill was scrapped because it was viewed by May & Greening as being a product of the Cameron/Morgan era and would be replaced by a bill reintroducing Grammar Schools.

A cursory google confirms this.
