Very good analysis Susmik. I would have liked to see an inquiry (similar to Chilcott) on this issue as there are differing opinions and because there are many (argies and Brits) who believe it was a war crime. Whilst i agreed with the Falklands war, i do not agree with killing servicemen outside the exclusion zone. We may have to agree to differ

Number 1,the Chilcott inquiry was a complete waste of time and a huge amount of tax payers money.
Number 2, who are all these British people who think it was a war crime.
I suppose it's Corbyn and his merry band of hating everything british brigade.

always a Norwood boy, where ever I live.

It was not an analysis it was the actual facts and having been there with 41 Cdo RM I do know what I am talking about. If you had bothered to read my post you would have seen the Belgrano was sunk whilst doing a pincer movement on our ships. You are not an Argie by any chance are you????

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

Err no i am not an argie...and i read way back that the Belgrano had been ordered back to buenos Aires although the intention was that it would return. There are many differing accounts. But i am not saying that those who went to the Falklands are in any way culpable, just the order that came directly from Downing street

I say again READ THE FACTS which you can find online yourself and it is not very hard to find. I lost a good few mates and saw some great ships with crews get hit and go down. The Belgrano was out to kill even more of our blokes and was not going back top base at all, it was doing a pincer movement to which the top Naval Argentine admiral has admitted many times and has said that we did not commit any crime in sinking the their ship.
Please stop telling us we did a war crime because we did not, and Maggie was quite right in telling our sub to sink it as she did.

All this stuff about the General Belgrano ( Which I personally think was justifiably sunk) doesn't alter the fact that Tony Blair is a self serving lying deluded c***.

I'm sorry Johnny, but Blair's term in office as PM was an unmitigated disaster for our country that we're still paying for now!

The worst thing he did was to waive the 7 year veto on allowing Poles and other East Europeans to move to the UK. Germany and other larger nations didn't.... that's why we have such a large population of Polish people here now which has caused problems with infrastructure and has driven down wages. Both of these problems have hit the poor/working class - that's why they voted for Brexit.

The schools/hospitals that he sanctioned to be built were funded by PFI. See the attached link.

[Link]

He was responsible for the commissioning of the Millennium Dome - what an expensive white elephant that was!

The fact is, that by the end of the 13 years Blair and Brown ran this country, it was ran into the ground... despite them taking over a healthy economy and having favourable economic conditions early on in their tenure. But instead of saving something for a rainy day, they sold our gold reserves cheaply and saddled us with debt.

I won't even bother to go into the details about his lies "sexing up" the weapons of mass destruction that led to us going to war with Iraq and the problems that has now caused us.

The bloke is/was an arsehole continually lying and looking out for himself and his family - he couldn't give 2 fcuks about the welfare of this country and it's people.

I mostly blame the people of Sedgefield that voted him in as an MP in the first place!

I am glad that Blair wants another referendum because he is the best example yet of the self serving scum that want to overturn democracy so they can get richer than they already are at our expense.

Thanks for making it plain for the doubters Tony.

Sadly he's not alone Hrolf.

Tim Farron (had to look his name up he's that popular) the leader of the LibDems is angling for this too putting them on a "war footing" for a General Election and make gains in MP seats.

Not sure about a desire to be richer, but Nicola Sturgeon (aka wee Jimmy Krankie) is angling for this too with a view to strengthening her and the SNP's claim for Scottish Independence.

All sorts of chancers and opportunists have surfaced or will surface to make capital of this situation for their own ends.

I must admit I agree with you though and Blair's endorsement of the need for a 2nd referendum should clarify the fact that it is NOT required in the minds of at least 90% of the UK population.

Blair....the minimum wage helped low paid working people but then he totally screwed them by large scale immigration.

He would have had us in the Euro as well.

I don't blame him for supporting the US in the Iraqi and Afghanistan wars but I do partly blame him for their inept handling.

We had to run out of Basra .....No British army should have to run out of anywhere.

Nobody speaks unkindly of 'Desert Storm' but isn't it rich that Bush Senior and John Major ended the campaign letting Sadaam go scot free to continue the mayhem in Iraq?

I heard Mrs.Thatcher give this view 'the job not done' and unfinished business it turned out to be.
