Tony Blair brought peace to Northern Ireland and it has lasted.

It seemed impossible but he did it.

With the Good Friday agreement our streets became safe from that source of terror.

Who else can match that achievement for peace yet people call him a war-monger.

Ridiculous.

Tony Blair was not the one who actually did all the negotiations but only ended up signing the papers. The main man was John Majors I am afraid to say.

You really need to get your facts right before you post,as Susmik has said John Major was the real person behind the deal.
And he sent our troops into a conflict that was none of our business...so war monger he is.

Thats incorrect I am afraid.

Tony Blair signed the Good Friday agreement on 10th April 1998, John Major was defeated in the previous election.

Are you thinking of the Anglo-Irish accord?

Sorry you are wrong again....JOHN MAJOR started it all off and tony Blair just came in at the end to sign the agreement.... Read the link I posted earlier instead of trying to justify your own thoughts and views!

What about the part that John McDonnell played in bringing the sides together?
Why isn't Mo Mowlem being given credence for her very important role?

The link you supplied is about the normalisation of Anglo-Irish relations that is Ireland and not Northern Ireland.

Of course John Major deserves credit he and other PMs all tried their best.

The difference is that Blair crossed the divide and brought Sinn Fein to the table nobody else would it was 'negotiating with terrorists'.

Yeah, 'cos the Irish thought ''We really like that chap''?
To believe that any PM, whether Blair or Major (in this instance), is beyond blinkered.
That said, i'd love to see Blair hung. Just because.
