your living in a dream world, just look at our results against the teams around us and since the start of 2016. That is not mid table form its downwards rather than upwards, its a bit like moving your deckchair around the Titanic to keep your feet dry!

Den...mate...sorry but Its a bit rich of you to say I'm living in a dream when you're the one pretending the season starts in January! Last season is done and dusted.

We're playing ok considering our massive hole on the defence. We have goals in us now - though Benteke needs to start taking his chances but that's another story.

Not so much getting knocked out flat as disappointing and flat performances against the likes of Bournemouth, West Ham and West Brom. Typically a totally unacceptable first half followed by lots of huff and puff second half but ultimately defeat. Not just this season but also second half of last season.

Don't expect to beat the likes of Liverpool and thought we were far from terrible Saturday but failure against the so called lesser teams makes it all the more critical that we nick something from the other games.

There may well be three teams worse than us but don't think it's unreasonable to think that we should be doing a little better than that or have a slightly better points return after the games played so far.

Aray, I'm not saying anything of the sort, what I am highlighting is that based on current form our projected points total for 2016/17 will be circa 36pts which is trap door form. The hole at the back is not down to one player it is the collective, with the next run of games we have to pick up points, which is going to be difficult because we have strikers who can't score and we are leaking big time at the back!

The absence of clean sheets is a major worry. I'd be more than happy with a few drab 1-0 wins right now instead of having to try to turn a game around after conceding first.

Are you any good at maths or did you just make up 36 points. It cannot possibly be so, if we have 11 points from 10 games.

Try 41 points, that nearer the mark and no team in the current total of 20 teams has gone down with 41 points.

W.Ham went down with 42 pts in 2002/03 but have a look at the link below :

I thought I was being quite kind, Palace have played 29 games in Premier league since 1/1/2016 and have earned just 22points, so on current rate they may not make 36!

who knows, last term the first half produced 31 and the second 11, the trouble is we are struggling and we cannot be sure where we will end up, even with 41 you are not guaranteed your place in the top flight!

No you're just selecting the data that supports your misplaced view.

You really can't say on current form we're heading for 22pts based on our game time since January and retain any credibility.

its a different season

... but unfortunately very similar results, despite vast sums being spent in the summer on 'upgrading the squad'. We have beaten Boro, Sunderland and Stoke - hardly cause for optimism. More significantly we have conceded first in 8 of our 10 league games. We can't keep doing that - AP has to get the team selection and tactics right in the first half.

Current form over full season 38 games would POSITION us as follows:-

20- Sunderland 36PTS
19- CP 36PTS
18- Swansea 41PTS
17-WBA 42PTS

This is reality at present lets hope its is not the final outcome 17 would be stressful but fine, lets not get carried away thinking we are better that we actually are!

Only if you look at results in a fashion that have no bearing on an actual football season. Based on your argument, teams like Chelsea and Southampton would have gone down if one looks at their seasons in snapshot and then extrapolated from there. They both had appalling runs.

By the way, we have 11 points from ten games. That is our current form. In case you hadn't noticed, the results from last season don't count towards the current one.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it.
