We play one up front most of the time and when everyone’s fit, Campbell is fourth choice striker. This is not our major issue.

Give Campbell a break! He gets thrown into difficult situations.

He gets thrown on against one of the best teams in the league with 10 minutes to go. The game had already gone by the time he came on and to be fair to him he ran about, put the effort in and tried to make things happen.

In a fully fit squad he wouldn't be coming on... Benteke staring, with Wickham and Remy on the bench.

I think he takes a lot of stick for not much wrong doing.

I doubt anyone is basing their opinion on 10 minutes against Liverpool; we've all seen over two seasons of his work upon which to form a view.

Like playing premiership football. I get why he was brought on, best option available, and I can't fault his effort or commitment. He's just not good enough, and we couldn't give him away.

I'm gutted we have Campbell when we had these two other players in our grasp. Campbell looked absolutely rubbish when he came on and offers nothing to the squad!! I would rather stick on some raw youth who give a Sxxx.

You're gutted on the basis of 8 minutes play on Saturday? Oh dear, I am sorry.

We've lost Gayle and Murray (and Bolasie) who didn't fit into our "system" (whatever that was?) and replaced them with Townsend and Benteke.

The problem it seems to me, is that we don't seem to play to a "system" that utilises their strengths. Blame the "system" perhaps?

Murray: didn't want to stay and we got offered good money
Gayle: didn't want to stay and we got offered good money
Campbell: we haven't had an offer.

No one knows whether he is desperate for first team football. He is on a good wage but has always put a shift in and clearly cares about the club. Yes he isn't the best option but he should be 4th in line and isn't an awful option for 4th striker.

What annoyed me was that Pardew took off McArthur, who was by far our best player and had scored two goals, and brought on Campbell who hasn't scored a league goal for us since Feb 2015.

And who implements the 'system' ? Christ knows how he's blagged it all these years.
