So a steady and tangible improvement happened when he took over, kind of my point. Has the same happened under Pardew ? No of course it bloody hasn't, and no matter much how we all want it to work, his track record and the (much avoided by all his lovers) 5-32 stat all points to us swapping places with Brighton come May 17.

After ten games in the season we are 13th in the league. Yep Allardyce once finished 5th in the league with Bolton, other than that he was a mid table manager throughout his career. Now who does that sound like? Didn't Pardew also finish 5th with Newcastle? They're the same calibre of manager. Just because Allardyce is dour in character and has functional teams doesn't make him a better manager. Pardew is much more manic, but they get roughly the same results. Stop moaning you absolute melt.

If I were SP I'd be keeping an eye on any medium sized club in trouble who could attract SA. Before that happens and if AP isn't succeeding and we're tumbling into trouble then wave the contract under his nose. AP will get over it, they all do. And we can stay in this division. We all know SP will pull out all the stops if we're in danger so I just hope if we're going south he does it so the task is easier for next man.

I'm not a huge fan of Alan Pardew's, but some on here are reminding me of Charlton supporters wanting rid of Curbishley so they could go to the '' next level ''. Or is it just a fear of relegation ? - in which case it's a pity Tony Pulis didn't stick around, grinding out those 1-0 wins. Whichever, I would say this ; I don't think we will get relegated under Pardew. I also don't think he will steer the club any higher than mid table, indeed that may be viewed as a success. Dragging up stats from last season is meaningless. They may have had more relevance if we had lost the 3 games we recently won, but I think those wins meant Pardew's job was safe. We've just lost 3 on the bounce, but I thought we were competitive in those games apart from conceding some poor goals. We are not far off being a decent side. Equally, we are not streets ahead of a number of clubs below/around us. If we are in the bottom 3 come Christmas, I'll start to get worried.

Allardyce glory days came about 10 years ago, what's the point in sacking Pardew so we can hope he does another Bolton. Also, who do you realistically expect us to be above? I'd say City, United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool, Southampton, Leicester and Everton have the squad and the finances to be above us. That would leave us 10th.

All that matters is how we're doing this year, and we're 13th. Last year we got to a cup final. The year before AP performed nothing short of a miracle. I'll repeat my assertion that you're a spoilt brat who would hound out any manager after they lost a few games and is incapable of looking at the bigger picture. Funny you should mention Moyes, he's taken over a club that's absolutely f*cked because it's sacked managers time and again instead of building something. Grow some balls, get some patience and get behind the team instead of moaning. Hopefully see you at Burnley on Saturday. Up the Palace.

My own personal view (I might be too optimistic !) is that we will finish in 14/15 place. IF by chance we just finish above the relegation zone say a point clear will this be considered OK by the supporters for the fact thar we have stayed up or will many feel Pardew has under-achieved ? If I was a betting man, I would wager that we will survive and Pardew will still be with us at the end of the season but "Mystic Meg" I am NOT !!!! Edited by Willo (03 Nov 2016 1.41pm)
