Exactly. It's not a temporary loss of form is it.

Relegation form is what it is.

That doesn't take into account the cup run, which had a massive effect on our season last year. We are more or less where I expect us to be this season. I don't see the need for panic.

Not time for a panic yet but it's a s***e run of form alright.
I said once before on here that playing three centre halves and pushing wingbacks up to crowd the midfield would give us a chance of more control during games and maybe nicking a few 1-0 2-1 nasty wins that we need to bolster confidence within the troops.

Following some of the doom and gloom after the last 3 games, I have written a post looking at the Leicester and Liverpool games; and how we are shaping up after 10 games when you look at the numbers behind our performances.

Spoiler alert - I don't think it's time to panic!

Please check it out if you fancy a read, any comments welcome.

I'll be doing a preview post on Burnley later this week too so keep an eye out for that.

Cheers

Three lost, but really only 1 of those games was a surprise, maybe. West Ham.

Leicester at home have a remarkable unbeaten record and Liverpool have been performing to historical levels this season.

Burnley, a draw would be ok (as its away), but realistically, out of the four, its the only game I'd expect to get points from usually.

I learned the other day that puncheon is apparently a type of extra strong rum from Trinidad.

Seems another argument for including Puncheon in the starting line up.

A puncheon is a vessel for storing spirit in, much as a butt, octave, hogshead, demijohn or keg. These are all kinds of cask. A puncheon was so called because (originally) a punch was used to stamp details of the contents onto the wood. (Now we use barcodes.)

And who would you play as wingbacks...Zaha and Townsend, or Kelly and ward...You could perm any two from four and it wouldn't work, none of them are wingbacks. And if you play 3 centre halfs at least one of them has to have a bit of pace, playing three slow center halves would be a disaster. Once Dann is fitter and gets more game time with Tompkins things will improve. We also need to get cabaye and macarthur playing as two defensive midfielders instead of letting macarthur get forward so much....yes I know he scored twice on saturday. But recent games have seen puncheon playing deep which just doesnt work defensively. We had our best spell at the start of last season with macarthur and cabaye playing deep..Seems to me at the moment cabaye macarthur and puncheon don't really know their roll.

Do we want Pards out? if so, 3 more bad results and he is gone (probably). If he gets a win, he lives for another day and we could have a troublesome season.
It's all ifs and buts.
Personally, i feel Pardew doesn't suit our club, or at least the version of club i support - we al have different views of palace right?
Would have loved to have and Steve Bruce back, we had a great run under him. I don't feel sorry for sacked managers, they get a pay off which to any of us would be celebrated as a lottery win. Just look at Sherwood.
It started off so well with Pards, but the FA cup saved him, let's be honest.

Thanks Willo. Did you read the article?

What I'm trying to encourage people to get away from is looking solely at the results. If we play very well against Burnley but Heaton has another miracle game and they nick a goal, it shouldn't be meltdown on here (although it will be), as the performances are strong and the results will come.

But at the end of the day results are the thing that matters, so even if we are playing well and Pardew takes us on another winless run, then he may well get the bullet.

We are in the results business!! Playing well & losing doesn't put points on the board..

Why are you all obessing over the last 4 games ? We've only won 5 in the last 32. Our football in 2016 is relagation form. End of.

I think our performance against Wet Spam was telling ... we should have won that game but were outplayed first half. It was a very poor team performance. Manager is there to ensure that doesn't happen. Better second half but overall, not enough effort or ideas in the 95 minutes.

We probably should have 8 more points on the scoreboard ... 3 each from WBA and WH and 2 more from Bournemouth. Significantly, these were all home games.

I can't see an improvement in performance or tactics from last season despite an upgrade in players. We are never going to get anything out of playing the current Liverpool or Man City sides but should expect to see something from Burnley and Southampton.

On present form, I don't expect anything but a further string of poor results could be a problem for Pardew. The issue then will be who could replace him and turn things around at this level? We have to be realistic about the lack of good candidates out there.

Why do some fans on here want that nice and warm nostalgic feeling back? That would be like pining for an ex-girlfriend who we moved on from years ago.

There is no need to panic. It's it as if Alan "partridge" Pardew has long runs of similar results is it !
