I think we're missing a number 10 and full backs more. With no real number 10, McArthur is having to spend a lot more time getting up to support Benteke rather than sitting alongside Cabaye. It's great when it works (first half v Liverpool) but also very bad when it doesn't because Punch/Ledley don't have the mobility to cover the same amount of ground (see again first half v Liverpool). The combination of McArthur and Cabaye was very effective at shutting teams down last year, but we haven't seen that this season. Full back is an obvious area of weakness. Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

I think we're missing a number 10 and full backs more.

With no real number 10, McArthur is having to spend a lot more time getting up to support Benteke rather than sitting alongside Cabaye. It's great when it works (first half v Liverpool) but also very bad when it doesn't because Punch/Ledley don't have the mobility to cover the same amount of ground (see again first half v Liverpool).

The combination of McArthur and Cabaye was very effective at shutting teams down last year, but we haven't seen that this season.

Full back is an obvious area of weakness.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

I think Jedi is not better than our starting XI midfielders - no way. However, as others have pointed out, he IS better than our back-up/bench midfielders. I wonder what the point averages are when Ledley (I rate Ledley btw) or Mutch are in the team? [Link]

I think Jedi is not better than our starting XI midfielders - no way. However, as others have pointed out, he IS better than our back-up/bench midfielders. I wonder what the point averages are when Ledley (I rate Ledley btw) or Mutch are in the team?

I can't argue with you because I have not done the sums.
I will check though as it seems a little odd to me.
He rarely played in the first half of last season when we did well but when it all went wrong he came in and steadied the ship.
Stats cannot be argued with but they don't always tell the true story.
