Hard to fathom. The tram looks almost untouched apart from being on its side but must have been going so fast. The Sandilands stop is the one I always alight from when visiting the old manor. Never ever felt the tram was even the slightest bit dangerous.

5 dead, 2 still trapped after nearly 9 hours, driver arrested. 51 injured, 31 gone to Mayday Croydon, 20 to St George's Tooting. This is a terrible day for Croydon and it's had some bad days but this is one of the worst.

Terrible news, i still remember the Clapham Junction rail disaster i think it was 1987 or 1988 30 plus people died that day going to work. Edited by kenners46 (09 Nov 2016 2.49pm)
