No matter what the numbers involved, truly an awful event.

Not odd at all. TRUE. Had rolling news on all day and mostly been US election. If you read it properly i said " its a shame they couldnt devote a bit more time". Hope thats a help. I haven't seen any TV today so yes it does help but it certainly hasn't been ignored or not given due consideration with the networks online and I would speculate that most people get most of their news online these days.

I heard somewhere that the driver blacked out at the wheel, and thus didn't brake. Thing's made even worse when we had a month's worth of rain in 24 hours or something mental like that. RIP to the 7 who've died. Very sad. Edited by Dan1994 (09 Nov 2016 6.47pm)

The media took forever to get onto this properly, now of course it's their main focus. They dropped the ball, their eyes were elsewhere. I spoke to the main ITV presenter in Sandilands and I knew more than she did.

Had the news on all day and it was hardly mentioned until London today earlier. Its heart breaking seeing all of this

No excuse. If they are going to run 24 hr rolling news channels then they should cover things appropriately. Might come as a surprise but some of us still buy newspapers and watch the telly.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

what difference does it make whether it makes 'top story' or not on any media? The families of those killed and injured cerianly will not care what 'page' any news is on as they have far more unfortunate things to take up their time now. Anyone with any sense of dignity and respect also won't care what the media 'réport' or where they do so. It's very sad that there are people who feel better the 'higher' in the league these tragic incidents are placed in the media.

Its very sad that the media in this country chose to downgrade a massive story in its capital in favour of a foreign election.
