Judging by the jolly New York photo Pardew will be around for a while yet. My guess is we'll have to be bottom 2 for a couple of weeks before they even think of sacking him.

The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years

Said to othfters 2 weeks ago that any managerial change would happen after the City game as giving any new manager City as a first up would be a bit unfair. Still feel the same after seeing yesterday's game. Actually I was a bit surprised that I didn't get a notification on the phone on the way home that he'd gone.

Basically something has to give to get us out of this slump, which has been going on since last Christmas. Maybe he's been given a last throw of the dice next Saturday against Swansea but I suspect that the chop is coming.

Would be surprised if we do not win at Swansea, draw against Southampton and win at Hull, thereby giving AP a stay of execution.

His position is starting to look untenable, but I'm still yet to be convinced there's any good replacement out there. Sack him tomorrow and I'll bet we end up with Coleman. Sacking managers is expensive and requires upheaval throughout the club. Unless there's an upgrade out there then we should tread carefully

I find it hard to believe that in the whole world of football there is nobody available better than Alan "partridge" Pardew. Really ? in a world with how many players and managers he is the best we can get ? Somebody with the worst record in any English league this year. That's just lazy....trying to find a manager by looking in yellow pages .

Would that be so bad?

Coleman has shown with Wales that he has the knack of knitting together a competitive team from a bunch of journeymen (excluding Bale of course)

It depends on the players. The Welsh team are a bunch of guys proud to be playing for their country with a manager proud to be managing his national team. We don't have that. I think we need someone with a bit of footballing discipline, but whose name isnt Fat, Big or Sam.

Have seen nothing to suggest that we can turn the dire home form around the last year and we seem unable to even get the basics right. The nature of City's winner and our free kicks were a joke.

Whatever it is Pardew's doing he isn't doing it well enough.

Don't understand the aversion against Sam A. He made Bolton way back a fearful opponent at least at home. Arsenal with all their stars and Wenger hated the place - and Bolton played some decent football with some decent players. And his "crime" as England manager? Talking about things many managers do - I would welcome him any given day. With 1 win - 1 draw - 4 losses at Selhurst Park so far this season with the greatest fans in the league, Alan P. ought to consider his position.

If we don't get a result at bottom of the table Swansea next weekend I'd say he's gone.

His record is no better than the manager people are seeking to replace. If you look at his record, his teams are actually worse at the back and in terms of scoring too.

If the club decides to get rid of AP (and I am in favor of keeping him until Christmas even if results don't pick up), then I would rather we get someone like Roger Schmidt.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it.

Of course. But if they come by playing Pulis/Alardyce style, there is nothing to entertain me. I'd rather we pressed teams than sit back and counter-attack. Losing by one or two goals to top clubs is easy to take if the players at least try to win. Like today.

We will only get better at this style. It is new to the squad. They need to adjust to it. Yes the defence is most at fault, but the football is the better.

Finally some sense. You could argue that we've moved backwards with this style but we've had constant interruptions to key personnel and constantly keep having to reinvent ourselves, hence how poorly drilled we look in areas. I'd rather stick at it, souare and remy added to this outfit would be comfortably top half imo.

I believe that Coleman's contract with Wales extends to the 2018 World Cup.
