Arguably he has. Only about 6-8 teams can be reasonably certain of not getting sucked into a relegation battle. Then there's another four or five that shouldn't which leaves 8-10 or 40%-50% of the league that need to be very careful / know they are in for a tough season.

Whilst we are certainly under performing, I don't think it is by the margin many fans think. Nobody (as far as I am aware) tipped us for relegation at the beginning of the season in spite of our poor second half to last season. If we finish mid table this season I thionk we will be viewed outside of the club in a similar bracket as Stoke Southampton and Swansea and we know how things are working out for Swansea at the moment

I don't think he's a players manager where he puts his arm around them to re-assure. I thought him and Wilf having a full scale argument across the pitch at Spurs last year was poor form, all AP had to do at HT was take him off (he did at HT) and not get involved to the extent he did. He'd obviously had a fall pout with Puncheon just before the cup final and dropped him to the bench which although i hate to say it, may have cost us.
His headbutt on the Norwich player and his verbal assault on Manuel Pellegrini was a disgrace in itself (and sickened his own family), it's proven the man has no self control.

'We' had to bin certain players as they weren't Premier League so the Chairmen upped their game and gave him some decent players. Maybe it's his backroom team/him. Everyone has their day. He had 2 big days last season, the Norwich game and the Cup Final. I don't see how losing a cup final saves his job as the league is our bread and butter.

His 'pressers' are embarrassing. He blames everyone but himself. I just want to hear once, "You know what, today we were s*** and it's my fault', no excuses, just acceptance. I think he'd get a little bit of respect just for that alone.

He's a mediocre manager and if we as a club want to accept that, then we'll be fine struggling year in year out. I fancy the Chairmen launching £32m on one player surely meant that they want bigger and better things.

TP gave us a backline that I recall top team managers whining about how hard it was to get through. AP inherited that and with Bolasie and Zaha on the wings we were getting results. That was not built upon by AP, he weakened it, it is gone. Jedinak was the tip of the spear on the backline, in essence a 5-man backline to help us compete against top attacks and grab the odd win. So when I heard about Jedinak being replaced I assumed that 'he was being replaced'. No - genius AP, gets millions to develop the frontline and while he's doing that he weakens the backline. All that money and trust put into him by the board, and what do we get? The worst team in 4 leagues. Please give me a break.

I agree on the Curbishly effect even though I don't think AP is the man for us.
However, I don't think it is about "the next level" - more just a slight improvement from this level and frankly with 5 wins in 30 odd games that is a pretty low level to look up from and not too much to ask.
If he can do it then great - I just do not think that he can.

Absolutely, ... rather see him/ us do well but it's not as though he only sees the team on alternate Saturdays like most of us. What's going on in between?
