I do not need to be told about psychological trauma as a very close female member of our family was abused as a young girl for many many years but she put it to back of her mind and leads a normal life. She does sometimes mention it but does not go running to anyone for justice and I would imagine these footballers who have kept it quiet for so long should do the same..TALK ABOUT it and not get on the band wagon. We ALL know abuse is a terrible thing and it does go on and has done for so long now even way back to Roman times. My view on the subject is: Why all of a sudden do all these men suddenly think it is time to bring it all up in the public domain. Why not seek help from the right people....

Does she? Or does she appear to? A big difference.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

To those asking why the players didn't speak out earlier maybe they feared reactions such as this from this dinosaur :

It would be ironic if one of those who spoke out did the honours.

Because someone spoke out, stood up and they realised that they're not the only one. That they're now of an age, where the idea of 'just getting on with it' has proven to be not enough, and because what was done to them was a crime, it wasn't their fault, they weren't to blame, that in fact they were abused, raped and that its probably still going on, and that if they also stand up and say, me also, that something might happen to break the silence that protects the abusers.

We should not be ashamed or be quiet, because we are the victim, it should be those who abuse people who should be meek, quiet, ashamed and afraid.

YES she does!

Probably true, some people that's enough. But it doesn't really help anyone else and it does kind of allow the perpetrator to continue.

That's her choice, but its not the only one, and we should not determine how people deal with their trauma, only provide support and assistance to them to deal with it, however they need to do that.

Footballers are to scared to come out as gay, let alone admit to being the victim of sexual violence and rape. No one wants to be the first, but this will expand and expand and in the end, the shame will be on the Clubs and Owners who 'protected' their image and interest, and in doing so facilitated generations of abuse.

"The biggest crisis in the FA's history" it may be but we've only seen two pages of comment. I wonder why? And yes, it is a rhetorical question.
