My friend's uncle is the only family member still on Cuba and she says he won't ever leave because he's been indoctrinated so much. He prefers to stay there than join the rest of his family in the US! Isn't it amazing how government can control people, like in N Korea also. And the EU too

Maybe he likes it? Its easy to talk of indoctrination, but this is kind of a thing for all societies to a greater or lesser extent. I mean here we all are, working hard to make rich people even richer.... etc. etc.

The west, its not perfect, in fact its pretty bad, but I do think, its probably a better option than the rest. But of course that's largely because of us as well...

Yeah he does like it, that is the crazy thing. But ask any sane person if they would rather live in USA or Cuba? There is only one answer. What's Cuba's immigration policy anyway?

Having been to Cuba and USA and being of a sound mind definitely Cuba its not a hysterical rat race and the people have a simple human dignity.

Enough money to live on - free essential services - what is there not to like!

For indoctrination please see USA and UK -latter in particular the UK is more like the DDR used to be every day that passes.

How poor am I going to be in the USA? I'd imagine that there are people in Detroit, Baltimore, LA County etc that might well have done better had they been born in Cuba.

Then again, if you ask a lot of low income, low security working people in the UK if they'd rather live in England or France, they'd choose England, despite the fact they'd be better off in France (and typically not because they don't speak French).

People are funny about national identity, and its not always rational either. I bet there are plenty of Americans who'd rather live in the US, than say Germany, Norway, Sweeden or the UK. And they'd also be wrong.

That's their May day parade. But don't let things like facts get in the way when you're copying stuff off of Facebook morons.

Fair enough. Mea culpa. I had seen the image on several sites. Post truth society and all that.
