He gave us two of the best seasons in our entire history, just behind Steve Coppell. It was right of the board to give him time to mould the squad, despite the horrific form. It's still early enough this season to turn it around, but I don't think he can. I never wanted him as manager, but he did well for us over the last two seasons and I've supported him up to now.

In a game where the other team have struggled to score, I was expecting us to sit tight and let their fans get on to them. We just gave a relegation rival a huge boost of confidence, through an extraordinary inability to defend. I cannot see him changing that.

Me too. I so wanted this to work as I've watched too much long ball s*** in the last 45+ years to be healthy for anyone.
Trouble is confidence will now be gone and the weakness at deadballs has become a self fulfilling prophecy. We believe we will concede and we do.
AP should of changed it a bit in order to grind out a couple of points, in order to stop the confidence sapping defeats. If we'd got the point at Burnley and even today, then confidence is nowhere near as fragile as it is now after six defeats. This is why his losing streaks go on so long, he won't ditch his beliefs, honourable in some ways, damn stupid in others.
Football is all about confidence and our keepers and defence are now shot of any. Next week could be ugly.
