My view is that any potential investor will look at the fact that the stadium requires a significant upgrade and of course this comes with a hefty price.They are not walking into a Newcastle,for example, with a modern stadium which holds over 50,000.

The majority of us fans will only know who we know manager-wise, likely a much smaller pool of talent than someone whose job it is to make the appointment. As with some of our player signings, CPFC will/should/I hope be looking much further afield in considering who to bring in next. Yes, some will say that but alas as a Club we have not progressed in our attractiveness, to some players and our record with Managers was not good until Roy arrived and installed some stability to the playing side of the club. As you say the Stadium needs urgent refurbishment, which is going to be expensive, however, most of all the current board are the problem, the American and Parish seem reluctant to invest more in the club and as I have already said the Americans want out. New investors if we can find them, will certainly want to have more control than I suspect Parish is prepared to give up. When you have unhappy investors you know from Sunderland and Wigan as recent example where that leads!

Interestingly enough when Southampton appointed Pochettino he was a manager whose contract at his previous club Espanyol was terminated with the team bottom of the table.

He was some unknown in this country and many though that Southampton had taken leave of their senses appointing him to replace Nigel Adkins who had got them promoted.The rest as they say is history!
