That was just hi jinks. Why do football fans have to look for ways to be offended by every tiny issue. Both laughed it off.

I also liked the way he told a fan in the front row to "f*** off and die" after inviting them to manage the team.

Roy's interviews are always so sterile and stage managed by a guy with decades of media training. Football and life in general needs a few more people that wear their hearts on their sleeve.

Why did Watford sack him?

In all fairness, who haven't they sacked?

I definitely would not go after Lennon. He tends to be a character who generates division on a number of fronts and has no track record outside of the really poor Scottish environment; even there, his record is far from outstanding.
I suspect, Palace will look no further than Freedman. He has shown again that he has a great eye for talent, is shrewd where money is concerned and may well be hungry to get back to a coaching role. In many respects, it would generate continuity - often not a bad choice especially in such uncertain times as today.

Freedman doesn't do excitement.

Because they are a terribly run football club.

Wasn't so long ago that people on here were spouting 'what a great club they were and why couldn't we be like them'. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and we, Crystal Palace, just keep on going.

There have been so many clubs and managers that have failed during the last 8 years that, when they were doing ok, many on here have cited as examples that we should follow.

I can tell you categorically that they won't and he doesn't want to go back to coaching.

My source is Dougie himself.

Yeah, but what does he know?

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

Can't imagine anyone saying that about them.

I am of the opinion that it is a tad premature to speculate on any new manager at our club.

Roy Hodgson is very much in situ and if he secures survival for us this season and wishes to continue then I suspect the current ownership will extend his contract.
Hodgson will have secured survival in the PL for 4 seasons on a relative 'shoestring' and there will be no reason to rock the boat as far as the existing hierarchy are concerned.

I agree with you Willo. However, interesting a poster apparently has it on such good authority that Freedman would not be appointed and he has no desire to go back into coaching.

I must say that surprises me but he keeps quite a low profile with few public statements. Personally, I would like to hear Freedman say something to that effect himself rather than relying on posters who claim to have knowledge of his views.

All I will assert is that I have also heard that Freedman has no desire to return to the dugout.
