I'm not coming at this from a purely attacking perspective but from the oppositions point of view.

When we had Bolasie, did sides think twice about committing too many players forward, knowing that if they lost the ball we could be lighting fast on the break.

Now we don't have that as much, are the opposition more easy about committing players forward, ie. full backs and midfielders, when attacking.

Just a thought.

The Bolasie/Townsend 'swap' sounded brilliant at the time but I can't believe now, that there is a single Palace fan that wouldn't reverse it if they could.

this is part of the reason pardew decided he needed to change our style of play,as we couldnt replace yannick so we had to afapt.

so slag him off all you like but its obvious why we are trying to change our style after losing our greatest counter attacking player

I was perfectly content with Bolasie, Murray and Zaha.

We've only got one of them left.

In the circumstances, perhaps we might also have hung on to Parr, Moxey and even . .. Marrow

Our counter attacking style has been dumped, which is a shame, as it is very difficult to defend against, and we did it well with the pace and power of YB and WZ.

Was AP the reason he wanted out. AT should be a great replacement but he does not want to play for AP so we miss our double act big time.

I would have liked to see bolasie crossing balls for benteke like he was for lukaku but even that seems to have stopped now.

not half as much as we miss that Croatian Ozzie bloke in front of the back four breaking things up and then passing it back to the opposition so that the can try again.
