Is that the sound of clutching at straws that I can hear.

Pardew has the worst record in all four leagues in 2016 although it doesn't suit your agenda to admit it

I do admit it. But it's irrelevant. What matters is what happens over a season simples.

If Pardew wasn't our current manager and we were looking for someone to take the reins, would anyone consider him as a viable prospect, right now, with that record? And before you reply with another quote from a puppet rodent the honest answer is, he wouldn't get an interview.

That's got to be one of the most desperate claims made on here in recent times.

How do you know he will try something new?
And as its new how do you know 'he's not far off succeeding with it?''

More daft than you can imagine.

I think you'll be good at ski jumping and you're not far off succeeding at it.

I think you're a long way off 'succeeding with something' if you're losing games where you score 4 goals, and that something is 'addressing problems with the defence'.

He's certainly solved the problem at the other end of the pitch. Problem is, football for most team

You and Jules111 are simples.

Watch this run turn into none or 1 win in 9 or 10.

When is the next run of 4,5,6,7,8,9 losses in a row?

I said before and after we beat the sh1t in the division of Mboro, Stoke and Sunderland we'll see if, or more likely when the next dangerous run happens. Well we're here again and Pardew hasn't either a scooby or the players with him. Irreversible I'm afraid for you in Pardew's fan club. By the way, he won't thank you for it. You're minor to him.

If you look at it from afar you can see how and why players may not be following his lead.

Jose Fonte.
The other one. West Ham was it?
Speroni, immediately. Fans' favourite. Can't have that. Dropped permanently. Tried to force him to QPR. Speroni didn't want to. Parish had to step in to stop Pardew moving him out.
Murray.
Hero worship and £80k talk on Cabaye.
Sako on something stupid and being played overweight and costing points at Sunderland and at home v Liverpool.
Puncheon.
Zaha.
Jedinak.
Delaney falling asleep.

Any more?

You reckon he's coming back from all that and having everything ship shape, 4 points from the next 2 and an average v the tougher games of over 1 point per game. Give it up pal, Pardew's charade is up.

Season 1 - Pardew inherited a decent side with good team spirit and finished 10th.

Season 2 - Pardew started putting his stamp on the team and we went backwards by finishing 15th. OK we got to a cup final, but that was the day he apparently started to lose the changing room by dropping Puncheon.

Season 3 - Pardew has totally trashed the team spirit. Going backwards again towards relegation I fear.

I'm all for giving Pardew his fair share of stick but to reduce his acheivements in his first season to that is ridiculous. We were a shambles when he took over and looked very likely to be relegated.

But we did have a team that could at least defend, which he has now changed and like or not five wins since last Christmas is not good enough, accept it his time has passed!

We've now done a full circle and he'll leave us in the same way

We weren't defending very well under Warnock!

We're in a better place now than when he took over, no doubt. Just look at the squad

If Pardew goes, it has to be big Sam, others are too much of a risk I think.

Agree we have a better squad albeit a bit thin but we're a shambles on the pitch and at the moment look likely to be relegated

True, but at least the board acted when he was sacked.
