The knee slide will end up badly injuring a player I would ban my players from doing it as well as any flips for the same reason. Bentekes is perfect.

Didn't a Sheff Wed player injure themselves celebrating a goal in the 2010 'survival' game? Had to be substituted I recall

No problem .........plenty more in the tank. Dont feel obliged to reply next time.

I don't doubt it but to be fair, I was referring to the replies more than the original post.

Palace have actually gone and signed a top European striker, for top money and instead of it blowing up in our face as you would expect with Palace, he’s doing the business. And what comments do you get on here?

‘I would like him to show more emotion in his celebration’
‘Personally, I think this should be for away games’
‘Well I think goal celebrations should be banned until we’re mathematically safe’

Yes... didn't whoever the player was kick the advertisement and hurt their foot? Or was that another game?

I'd rather Benteke or indeed any of our players devoted their spare time to improving themselves as players rather than rehearsing goal celebrations quite frankly.

Once we are out of danger he can do what he likes, but right now I want him focussed on gaining 3 points, not looking cool in his mind when he scores.

We have some tricky fixtures coming up and we need more points.

I find it very hard for any justification for the FIFA mandate that players who remove their shirts after goal celebrations are given a yellow card. The referee has NO option whatsoever in this respect.

Hold on - are you seriously suggesting that individual referees should be allowed to decide, on different occasions, whether or not to show a yellow card for removing a shirt? To state the obvious, players would then have no idea where they stood. "Last week so-and-so didn't card so-and-so for taking his shirt off, but this week you've carded me. It's not fair."

Whether the FIFA ruling is in the interests of the game is another matter.

COYP - 4 minutes to go.

I live with his son. Steve Morrow is a lovely guy. Works as a coach/scout for Arsenal Academy.

Also it was Tony Adam that broke Steve's arm after he scored the League cup winning goal, but I think it happened at the end of the match.

You're correct - he scored their goal, kicked the hoardings in celebration, broke his foot, got to the centre circle for kick-off and then dropped to the floor. LOL
