Pards was fuming on SS about the Snodgrass dive. He also said the tackle on Benteke just before Hull scored was a pen too, but I haven't seen a replay of that yet. Even Phelan said "we got away with one", referring to the cheating Snodgrass. Disgusting that a cheating player and a crap ref can turn the game like that. In all the circs we did well to get a point but if the ref had called the Snodgrass dive correctly we would have all three.

The right place at the right time

Hands-up.
I was wrong to say Townsend should play.
I hereby withdraw from the manager interviews.

We move in the direction of our thoughts.
Just think a little.

Possibly, possibly not.

But we conceded the non-pen because we were under pressure, because we weren't able to cope with their shape at that point in the game. We made a couple of decent openings in the first half but that's all, it's not as though we had them on the rack!

Second half we changed shape which meant we were able to compete better. But the players didn't have much clue of how to operate in that shape either, hence another game which collapsed into total chaos. Fortunate to salvge a point from sheer effort and some real quality by Wilf.

I thought Zaha could have had a second penalty too. The commentators certainly thought so. Benteke looked like he was fouled in the box, and Snodgrass should have been off.

Problem is, we've been a shambles at the back for ages. In two of our last three games we have given up eight goals to teams that were struggling to score.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it.

..the shambolic performance was simply because of the ref.

Clean sheet against Southampton , No Cabaye.
Only conceded 1 to a dodgy pen before he entered today.
Another game not won with him on the pitch at the end.

Is it all just coincidence ?

..Hull scored two great goals today, nothing our defence did wrong at all!

That may be so, but we've still been a shamble at the back for ages. Just look at our goals against. What is especially damning is the fact that he claims to have been working on that for about three weeks. In that time we've shipped eight goals to teams struggling to score.

Another day, Snodgrass would have been off and we could have had three penalties. But we still would look shoddy at the back.
