With the utmost respect "Hoof Hearted" I have posted comments about the Benteke incident so really have nothing to add.

It is generally accepted that Hull were fortunate to have been awarded a penalty - all I have been trying to do is to try and see it from the referee's perspective. Dann slides in, Snodgrass goes over - from the referee's angle it looks like a penalty.If he had seen it from another angle then he might have made a different decision.

..exactly and the one for Spurs being the first goal allowed them the pleasure to go on and get more, really disgusting having one person being responsible for deciding the outcome of games that have many people worrying about their lively hood and affecting their behaviour/moods until the next time they play....all you need is one solitary person sitting on their hairy arse watching a screen with the ability to replay every incident in a split moment with an ear piece linked to the ref, take about 15 seconds I'd reckon, it is disgusting and today's ref needed help BIG time.

Willo, it was perfectly clear to me at first sight and in real time that that was a dive. I did not require replays of any kind to wonder on what planet that was possibly a penalty. I didn't at that point realise it was Snodgrass and actually thought he was going to show a yellow card. I was flabberghasted when he pointed to the spot instead.

So you know what you can do with your argument about "slo-mo replays" and all that. The other side of that is that Jones of course is supposed to have qualifications, decent faculties, years of experience and regular training. I didn't need any of those things to see the most obvious dive of the season for what it was, either.

Since you conveniently didn't see the whole match and therefore feel able to dodge the question of whether Jones had a good game, I'll give you a hand. As I stated in the match thread, it was one of the worst referee performances I have seen in about forty years of watching football. Does that help?

All very well having viewed the incident on TV.

If Jones had seen it from a different angle IE running behind Snodgrass in the direction the player was heading he would have seen the distance between the 2 players.From his angle this wasn't possible and I suspect the vast majority seeing it on TV (Without replays from several angles) would have deemed it a penalty.

Of course Hull were fortunate to get the penalty but as Pardew said he can understand why it was given.
