A bit of perspective is needed, many on here have wild expectations, which are unrealistic with our track record over the years.

I take my lead from Steve Parish who publicly stated at the beginning of last season that he wanted the club to push onwards and upwards from it's tenth place

you can look at these 6 'phantom' points in a few ways.

2 extra wins, or 6 draws when we actually lost, or a combination of a win and 3 draws as opposed to losses.

any of them we'd obviously take, i'd actually prefer the 6 draws rather than losses, that'd show some defensive capability rather than suicide football that we currently play.

Pardew doesn't have any tactics, let a lone a plan B, how he sees this as transition evades me totally. He's torn the heart out of the team, we get shot of Jedi yet Paddy has been at the club for a million years doing naff all, Murray and Gayle didn't work in the scheme we were playing and i get that, Gayle had 5 managers that never played him and hes now in the championship, that'll change next year when they are in the Prem for sure, but I just cannot get past how Pardew seems to be bullet proof in every way.

Again good post I agree with bits but Pardew does not do draws. !!!
As for Murray and Gayle I would have kept them at the time.
Certainly Gayle and I will back my judgement that he will score goals in the Prem.
Anyhow Up The Palace.

Well we all want that !

But there might be a difference of opinions as to the timescale. Not sure that Mr Parish set this as a target for the forthcoming season - maybe just an aspiration that at some stage he would like to see the club pushing up into the top half of the table and establishing itself in the upper reaches of the PL.

Yes,we all desperately want success but the way things are ,and are heading without change ,we may have to plan our next campaign from the Championship.

The defensive shambles at Hull proved that Pardew hasn't turned things around. All I can say is that I hope Parish has already been sounding out new managers.

And right there, in a nutshell is exactly the problem. He is totally, utterly and completely incapable of closing out games to maintain a lead or save a point. Being capable of grinding out a point or a result is a large part of what it takes for average and below clubs to stay in the PL. If he can't do that, and he's proved time and again (including the cup final) that he can't, then he's not the man to keep us in the PL short-term or long-term.

Cannot argue with that over to SP.

The first goal was not Pardews fault.
The next two Cabaye was at fault.
Pardew should not have brought him on.

Being selective again!

Parish is backing Pardew, are you taking his lead and following!

Found time to watch MoTD today, after watching the game live on Saturday, it looked bad live but the way Cabaye stepped out of the way to allow the guy a free shot is almost comical.

Much was expected of Cabaye when he arrived at the club and his signing was seen as a real 'Coup'.

I am increasingly forming the impression that there wouldn't be a great deal of disappointment from large swathes of our support base if he was sold for a decent amount.I would not be surprised if he goes in January.
