That old chestnut? Now of course we aren't ever going to be anywhere close to the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, United Etc in the transfer market. That said we ain't short of a few quid. I get tired of people trotting out the same old "Plucky Palace" & "We are punching above our weight' Bollocks. The fact of the matter is we aren't seeing any improvement in team performance or league position. West Brom who are a similar sized club in terms of spending & Support wise are currently in seventh & on paper (IMO) with a squad which isn't as good as ours.

..so the season has ended has it?

I’m not judging on these 2 games just ‘all’ the results in 2016 of which we have won 6 in 40+ games, don’t know how to grind out a draw, a win, keep a clean sheet, no leadership, ridiculous substitutions, no suggestion things will get better etc! We beat Chelsea at home the other season and yes it was a surprise but we know 100% we will lose on Saturday … that’s a big difference!!!!

..think you'll find that every single team feels the same! Ten wins on the trot and playing brilliantly, but I expect us to give them a good game and it will be close, but confidence is the only barrier between us and west brom, people who think Pardew has lost it are jumping on the biggest ever band wagon ever seen in football to date, all bulls***.

First half we looked disciplined and resolute at the back. Flamini, McArthur and Cabaye seemed to work well. Less so, McArthur, Cabaye and Ledley, but we got back in it.

And McArthur for Campbell - WTF - that hammered home that Pardew is a gambler, and a chancer, rather than a pragmatist tactician.

We looked liked we had some balance in midfield for the first time in ages. I have to say, I was shocked McArthur came off. If he was being saved for Saturday, I would have thought he'd have been off earlier. That late made no sense, especially for a second striker.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it.

I'm sorry but i don't buy all this 'we woz robbed''the luck is not with us' we woz gutsy etc. I think our fight has gone. We were so passive first half and just invited United on to us. We made a bit of a fist of it early in the second half, but we looked so vulnerable to crosses. Players not picking up runners, being out jumped. There is a deeper malaise here. Poor tactics, poor coaching and we are also paying for a poor pre-season which has resulted in us looking unfit. We were such a fit team when Pardew took over and we had quality as well. Anyone remember how brilliant we were at Anfield for the Stevie G farewell. We have even more quality now, but look worse as a team!!!! Who else is to blame apart from Pardew?? It is like the life is slowly being drained from us. We need to act now before it is too late

I agree with you completely mate. Look clueless and continually giving the ball away. We just look so fragmented.

A total shambles tonight. Jimmy Mac on the wing really??? why? Zaha as a second striker why? We lacked width and could not get the ball off of united. The Plus point, Kelly looked more comfortable on the right.

We played with heart, but as if not one of the players knew what they were supposed to be doing. Wilf looked a shadow of the player he was last week, Why are we playing players out of there natural positions

Not sure what Pardee used as an excuse yet as I have not seen the interviews.

It was obvious McArthur was on the wing to give Kelly extra protection, as it has been acknowledged that Kelly has been struggling.
Zaha will always struggle against top opposition, he still goes to ground to easy, not sure if he lacks strength or is just looking for free kicks.
The fight in the team hasn't gone, there was a game plan to frustrate Utd early on, as they have far more talented players than us. Nobody expected us to win, so it was a free game to try and win late on, unfortunately we were done by Pogba and The Swede, who are world class.

Who apparently elbowed cabaye off the ball and should have been sent off according to sky sports, didn't notice the incident myself wonder if the fa will...

There was no lack of fight tonight.

I thought it was a gritty, battling performance.

The problem is that we can't afford to buy in the top talent in the same way as clubs such as Man U.

The gulf is wider than ever.

Which is why you have to have everything else in your locker to better them that we can't now get to.

Palace fans. My mate walked out on 90 minutes with his son and one of the gobby blokes at the back called him a fat c**t. To be fair he is fat, but he's not a c**t, well most of the time he's not.
