We didnt plan for loosing our keeper, our left back, our 2nd striker, our 3rd striker, a lot of midfielders hitting bad form, our winger losing confidence or our backup midfielder being completely devoid of fitness...we were alread a small squad but we chose to take a punt with a small squad of talebt rather than a large squad of championship players.
Our team is makeshift, you could argue that some managers might have been able to makeshift better but i dont really agree.
Transfer window, we find cover for remy, wickham, soure

Agree,we are now in serious trouble and looking over our shoulder, just one point about the bottom 3,with the exception of Hull are beginning to win games, unlike ourselves who have a manager coming up with so many excuses for our poor results and no idea how to arrest the inevitable slide to the Championship.
So many points lost to the sides we should have beaten and we will always struggle against the big sides to get points as has been shown in the last 2 games and will be shown again at Arsenal away shortly.
Possibly point at Watford probably not enough to keep us out of the bottom 3.
New Year, new manager is our only hope after Pardew's 2 year tenure.

This is an interesting story from the FT. It's pure data analysis but is of some comfort. Suggests we're safe....

I think we will go down and I think we'll look at the games against Burnley, Swansea and Hull as where we lost it.

I hope we don't but I just don't see us being good enough for long enough during a game. I'm also assuming Pardew stays for the whole season.

I think we will just stay up, perhaps last kick of the season staying up.

This will then make the following three weeks of watching Br13ton capitulate once again all the more satisfying.

Up the Palace, we just know we never do it easily.

We didn't plan on having a manager who is tactically inept, one that can not close out games and who has constantly blamed everyone but himself.

At the moment I can't see where a win is going to come from. Our only hope is a good transfer window, but not even sure we'll get that, because we'll struggle to get quality players in. Hope I'm wrong.

The good news is that our main relegation rivals are struggling as badly as we are. Swansea, Hull and Sunderland are all in trouble and have financial difficulties too.

The bad news is our fixture list. We need six wins and five draws to get us to 38 points. Of our away opponents, the lowest in the league is West Ham at 13th. We have used up all our away fixtures against other relegation contenders. Maybe we will nick one away win from the remaining away fixtures.

That means we have to win five home matches, and our best chances will be from these seven opponents: Swansea, Everton, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Watford, Burnley and Hill. If we win five of those, plus one away match, we will still need five draws to get us to 38 points.

Maybe the safety total will be less than 38 because the other relegation teams are so poor. But it still looks very worrying...

If Pardew remains, we'll be relegated and Parish has probably left it too late for another manager to save us as well. We won't be able to sign the sort of players we need in this window because they will not join the train-wreck that we've become. Bar a miracle, relegation is rapidly becoming a certainty. If we don't get at least four points from Watford and Swansea we will be on the slippery slope, with no way back, and swapping places with Brighton at the end of the season.

You're going to have to tell most of us what it says, as it's a subscription service.

Much better today, looked more solid all round with Cabaye playing well again.
My worry is when will we start picking up the points needed? I think we will stay up but the stats don't say that. SP obviously believes AP is the man to keep us up but I am not sure he's right on this occasion. Let's hope he is proven right and I have to eat humble pie!!

Hopefully before April as our run in looks horrific. No shame in losing last 2 games but in the return fixtures likely defeats could be the nails in the coffin. The Jan window might help but we might not see improvement until later in the season against some very strong sides. Pardew is now back to where he first joined as manager after Warnock. He needs to look at that season, instill the same philosophy and forget about transitions.
