The only former England manager (who is still alive) that I think might be ok would be Capello, but that might just be because I think he would look good dressed up as an eagle. I think we need to accept that English managers are rubbish. They scrap it out ok in the lower leagues but rarely find any real success in the top flight. I think we should go for Mancini if we can get him. He would give the players a big boost and help attract some talent to the club. Whether he would come here is a whole other matter.

Is probably of the view that he has a better chance of managing a Premiership team next season if he stays where he is.

Lets show a bit of ambition and go for Mancini.

Maybe SP should ask Southampton for tips. They seem to find quality managers with alarming regularity. Plenty of good managers in Europe.
