I'd take that over the 12 months Pardew had to sort things and failed miserably.

Good point, but risky at this stage. I didn't think we had reached the desperate stage yet. I thought that might be when we were in the relegation zone and losing touch. Still, hopefully all gets well and we pull to a safer place. I know that this sounds strange, but being an older fan, it's not all about premier football for me at this stage, but building a legacy of a better club, ground etc for my children to watch in comfort in future years when I'm gone. However, I do understand the two may go hand in hand. Unless the Americans have pots regardless.

I am a great believer in luck. The harder I work, the more of it I seem to have (Coleman Cox, 1922).

Let's see where some hard work gets us :)

It's difficult to say without seeing how we'd have got on at Watford and against Swansea, if there hadn't been a management change. My fear was that, if we'd got points from those two, Pardew would have then reverted to type again (like he did at Hull, after Southampton) and I'm not sure how much more of that we could have taken before we were beyond redemption.

Being somewhat senior myself, I agree with you on the rest, but we'd never achieve the badly needed infrastructure improvements outside of the PL.

..so in training Pardew shows them how to boot the ball into their own face while making sure the ricochet hits someone else on the arse so the ball falls nicely at the feet of the enemy to score, then he shows our keeper how to not take command of his penalty box and how to not communicate with outfield defenders while at the same time he shows expertly how to dive over the ball during a save and how to clear a back pass straight to the enemy .....then he very stupidly told one defender how to tackle in a way that would appear just like a brilliant dirty foul to really convince the ref into giving a penalty that would later be seen on TV as one of the greatest ferking dives of all time! I could go on for hours doing this very very easily.........how about the time a midfield player who was standing on a post during a corner and who somehow managed to kick the ball against his own leg twice and then mis*** it again two feet forwards towards the onrushing enemy who had much fun pushing it three feet into our goal! ..what was Pardew doing showing them how to do that! ....Pardew was awful in training and thank god he has been sacked.

What a load of tw&t. They were poorly managed, trained, drilled, prepared and not correcting or learning from mistakes, same as he wasn't.

You have clearly barely ever played football.

Yes, better better to wait till we're right in the relegation zone so we're, or should I say the dwindling minority are sure as we are he's failing and will continue to do so. Then relegation so we knew we were right.

Weird timing. Whether AP was Remain or Pardxit. But we're not the first Premiership outfit to be effed over by Trumpy-pumpy US shareholders... look where it got Villa et al. Good luck, Pards, sorry it ended like this. Now, I wonder if Venables is available (if we can hide the biscuit tin)...?!

He has gone now so this means nothing, we will have to wait and see who arrives, hopefully someone not yet mentioned.

Yeah nothing's been proven. Pardew wasn't doing badly and all was well. In time you'll be saying 2016 sewed the seeds of a great side in which we saw wonderful performances Barca would be proud of.

Exactly how are we being f***ed over, apart from by Pardew I mean?

A really stupid comment. Are you saying that you really approved of taking off a midfielder who was possibly MotM and who had effectively kept the £96 million Pogba under control to replace him with a reserve striker with a few minutes left in the game to hold on to a well deserved and vital point ? Clueless -just like Pardew!!!! Thank God Parish has got his head screwed on !!!
Pardews tactics that night just mirrored his actions in the games versus Burnley,Swansea and Hull. If he had been more worried about clean sheets and hanging on to points we could've got at least 7 more points from those 4 games and we would've been sitting pretty plus he would still been in the job. Instead of that his ego and stupid all attack policy backfired. As I said before - he only has himself to blame!

I'd give up mate. Some people have never played the game and think if a sub comes on he has to directly replace the man going off! Some people haven't got the capacity to realise the team had already been reconfigured to allow this to happen without weakening the team. And yes, it was just sh*t luck that we let that goal in. I guess it would have been a different scenario had Campbell scored or there were no further goals. Still, a bit of a rocky road ahead. Probably three weeks until the new man gets a grip of things, and by then it could be too late. Can you imagine if we win at Watford what people will say about how the team has improved without Pardew. Laughable.

I've played the game and so have others and I'm sorry but what you've said is garbage. Reconfigured the team? What are you going on about? Jimmac was playing no 10/midfield. Watch the last 10 mins. A few minutes before that falling over by Cabaye, Jimmac was tackling a few short yards from that very spot. Campbell comes on and he is in front of the ball the whole time:

Reconfigured the team? Pfffffffffft.

Pardew has destroyed it himself. Over and over the again the same issues. Arrogance and a lack of respect for the important and delicate position he's in. He steered himself to this, no one else.

I think we should be massively grateful that we have Steve Parish at the helm of our club. He obviously liked Pardew and went out of his way to get him and then totally backed him on transfers, tactics and in the media however he is astute enough to see the light and to act decisively for the best interest of the club. With the transfer window coming up and Big Sam available he acted to prevent us sliding deeper into the mire. There is just too much at stake to leave things as they were. He has barely put a foot wrong since he took over the club and once again I totally back him in this latest decision. No way could he gamble on Pardew based on the 2016 league stats.
