Why does everyone hate Sam so much?

Well it may be that Pardew's turnaround was just too little too late. If the Board's view was that "Allardyce is the best there is at guaranteeing that a team doesn't get relegated" then further delay might have seen him appointed by Hull, or Swansea, or Sunderland.

And I think they may have been impressed with his professionalism compared to Pardew's. Although I hear Pardew prefers multi-page printouts for each player for each game whereas they preferred on-pitch training ground preparation.

I have read that SA prefers however to gt through to players. If they don't respond to him then he gets and lets the captain and one or two others to explain and encourage them to or then lean on them to pull in the team's direction. I think this approach will work well with our group that needs to get some camaraderie back.

Which makes it even sadder that Pards was allowed to f*** Jedi off in the summer. Seems totally pointless now.

I think I might like Big Sam

I was disappointed in how he behaved during his tenure in the England job, which is the second most exalted job in football.

But everyone is allowed a second chance and now Sam is at Palace.

Which is The most important job in football.
