League games: 73
Wins: 25
Draws: 13
Losses: 35

34% win rate

Managed us for almost 76 games so essentially 2 full seasons (3 games short).

1.2 Average points per game, would have got us 45 points, safety essentially in both hypothetical seasons.

------------------------------------------

As it turned out:

- 62 pts in his first 38 games - 1.6 ppg average

- 26 pts in his next 36 games! - 0.7 ppg average

------------------------------------------

If he could have kept up that average consistently:

- We'd have stayed up with 37 pts in 14/15 (18th placed Hull went down on 35 pts)

- 45 points in 15/16 - 13th with Watford that season (3 points more than we actually achieved)

- 20 points at this stage this season (5 points more than we currently have)

-------------------------------------------

And he'd still be manager. Funny how things ACTUALLY pan out.

btw, no angle here, just laying out the stats. Also, correct me if I've miscalculated anything.

But I would like to thank Pardew, no matter what your opinion of him, you can't dispute the fact that we're in a better place now because of him.

Football is not done on averages much like it's not played over a calendar year. Simply put we're terrible this season and it shows no sign of improvement

Could very very easily have got those points from;

Everton, wrong free kick and disallowed McArthur goal.

Hull.City, cheating.

Maon.United, cheating.

First season , just a half , 10th
Second season 15th
Third season , half again 17th

The longer in charge, the worse it was getting.

You've got to wonder why he has these honeymoon periods at clubs, it was a full year with us, we were absolutely fantastic; 62 points from 38 gets you around 6th/7th most seasons.

The fitness and training methods seem the most likely causes of the downfall. It's obvious he's a decent manager, he just has huge flaws and blind spots.

Because it is exactly that, a honeymoon period when it's all lovely and easy. But when it gets tough and things go wrong he doesn't know how to fix it.
