Doesn't it make you feel dirty though? Like we cheated? Or hopped into bed with a prostitute?

I think what some here might be worried about is the negative comments that will inevitably be aimed at our club because of perceptions of Allardyce. Most of us would stand up for Palace if a rival fan slagged us off. So we're probably all girding our loins a bit, getting ready for the inevitable vitriol coming our way. I think it's likely all nineteen other clubs' fans are ready to call our integrity into question, and that's going to wear thin after a while.

Honestly, I felt all along that Big Sam was just the one who got caught. He showed a certain amount of hubris, for which he paid dearly. Other than that, he seems to genuinely care about the game, and demonstrates regularly that he is incredibly well prepared. For me, we got the right man, and he quickly owned up to his stupid mistake. Not as big of a deal as the press made it out to be, in my opinion.

I'm looking forward to seeing what he'll do, and will support him because he now manages the team I love.

When this happens SAM will be hailed as a Saviour ! BUT SORRY by hiring BIG SAM the Club Management have shown a total lack of Integrity !! Did they not watch the video ?

More interested in a few extra quid NOT managing a Football team. Oh dear PALACE is that where we are now !!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? you not see AP's record since last december? Managers have been sacked for less... something needed to be changed, it wasn't going to be the squad.

As a side note, what SA did was foolish, but only foolish in the light of being caught.... everyone knows someone, or has done something like that on the side, paid big bucks to talk about loop holes? In the scheme of thing, no big deal, but as an FA employee at the highest, it was unwise.

You not see Pardew head butt a player, call a fellow professional manager an 'old c*nt'?

You not hear the rumours of his trouser snake veering his head?

Ok. So you are saying SP is good at managerial appointments. Care to explaîn why you think that?

He made the best of the situations we were in bar Burley. You say "Parish hasn't helped with the sacking managers stat" So would you of kept, Burley, Warnock, Pardew? Pulis and Freedman left for money. And before you say "Why appoint these rubbish managers in the first place". Nothing is guaranteed in football, everything is chance (Pep at City, Jose at United).

Instead of debating on here why are you not involved with the hiring of managers for the club? why isn't Parish ringing Kermit for advice?. Parish has made this club what it is today having managers of Sam's experience (5th most managed prem games), The likes of Benteke, Cabaye, Zaha and even Manadana to a degree.

glass houses. you all think josh harris got to be a billionaire by giving nice old ladies fair deals on their cakes? happy to take that money, though, eh? fun to watch benteke as a result, eh?

people think PL owners and managers are choir boys?

the goal is to stay up at this point. plain and simple. SA gives you about the best chance of anyone possible at this point in the season. sort the defense out, get some of the attacking players better organized, win a couple of games, pop the champagne in early may if all goes well.

imagine going down the year brighton goes up. anyone want to sign on for that?

Have we hell. We've all (most) of us have took backhanders before bent the rules ect for the greater good just some of us didn't get caught with our pants down. Promising appointment it's a welcome relief we've been suffering enough recently can't see things getting worse. Going down like a lead balloon before.

I agree with the OP, this club has stooped so low, its embarrassing.

I don't think that I have seen such a load of holier than thou drivel on a football forum before.

If Allardyce is such a shyster and Parish has knowingly employed him to the embarrassment of the club's supporters surely that makes Parish an embarrassment too.

Why not wave a "Parish Out" banner at the games to make your feelings felt.

I will laugh in a couple of months time when I read all the glowing tributes to Allardyce on this forum after we've won a few games and all you lot have changed your tunes yet again

Man City could always be relied upon to be sh1ttier than us in appointing managers until recent years but now even they have let us down.

We have had 30 managers in 23 years. We are a joke of a football club in that department. Parish hasn't helped.

Feels like more have left us for brighter lights than been sacked though?

Is this the Alan Lee who seemed to give his all for our cause? The one who went off with a nasty head wound but five minutes later came rushing back on with his head heavily bandaged to rousing cheers from the fans? To be fair, I think he did his bit for us!

Pulis always gets offers.

DF forgot about Bolton's spiralling £100mil debt which levelled us with our zero debt and their shiny training ground and stadium. He was like a teenager thinking of the quick money rather than career progression. Maybe Parish wanted to oversee things a bit too much but look at where we are and what DF is.

All the others are out of work or IH who is in the championship, which is where Pardew will probably have to restart.

Parish might hav clashed with Pulis over transfers although Pulis inviting Parish to his daughter's wedding it can't have been that bad. West Ham fans wanted Sam out but they went on a good run at the start of the season. That's why I think we saw Pulis out of work for a while. He was lined up for West Ham but it never happened.

There may have been clashes over transfer policy. Parish likes 22-25 year olds with resale value. Managers like to have proved heads closer to or at 30. The former is healthier for the longer term whereas the latter can eventually mean less and less funds to keep you where you are, obviously to most of us.

You cannot fault Parish on any of his hiring a or sackings or Pulis' walking out. I didn't like DF as manager and I do not like him snitching us up to the FA. He is a snake. Some things have never come out so there may be more to know. But DF must know now he should've stayed, proved his value for longer than 7 games and then demanded equal or more than Boltons offer. My impression was he just wanted the money quicker and saw Bolton as more likely to go up and be able to build a team easier. Only the quick money happened. The rest failed.

Parish is a brilliant chairman. Thought he was losing it with Pardew in some blinded love of Alan but he had us all fooled in the radio, including Alan. This has been moving for a few weeks and thank god it has.

He is the first chairman to maintain Crystal Palace's premier league status, and consistently too. Palace had no divine right to be in this league with the constraints we had/have. Now, with the squad we have assembled, I believe we should expect to be here, but that is thanks to Parish and the board.

Pulis was his best manager and he walked out as the season was starting, taking his bonus with him, and yet he saved us from certain relegation. Holloway was out of his depth, and yet he got us in to the premier league. Warnock was a stopgap, who had done really well for us in the past and many faithful Palace fans remember his first spell with fondness (Moses, Clyne, Ambrose). Pardew was very successful in his first season and getting us to the FA cup final. The new philosophy has not worked for him, and I think Parish gave him a good amount of time to sort it out.

Overall, Parish has been an exceptional chairman. I hope we have him for many more years. Suggesting Parish is not good enough by merely stating how many managerial changes he has had is reductionist and literally pointless. Your argument has no content to back it up. In fact, it is borderline trolling.

Perhaps an honest, fair, and truthful club, with integrity, that has as much cash as we now do, might have considered repaying some of those small traders that were so much out-of-pocket when we went into administration, for the second time, enabling our current owners to buy it on the cheap and make a very handsome return on their investment? We're very far from being a paragon of virtue as a club so let's not pretend otherwise.

Whoa !! there that got people going !!

Big Sam will be a disaster for Palace and football may be all about money ? ............but NOT for all of us.

Why not get Harry Redknapp he could have done a Portsmouth !! for us ? Get in loads of middle of the road players on massive wages, earn a fortune for himself, get us to a cup final and RUIN & BANKRUPT the Club.

SAM sorry but I stand by my comments. Our board have SOLD OUT . We have lost our heart, integrity, and worse our Identity !!
