Maybe it is just a coincidence but since the Americans have been on board it seems to have gone down hill. I think Steve Parish will be the next to go. He was in my mind completely undermined with the sacking of Pardew and the appointment of Allerdyce. Would like to add I am no fan of Allerdyce, he is far to negative. I watched a pre season friendly between West Ham and Dresden the year West Ham got promoted Allerdyce spoke for 10 minutes before the game and it was 10 minutes of negativity. Needless to say West Ham played negatively with one shot on goal and lost 2 nil.

We had the perfect club, the club we had always dreamed of. It was responsibly run, with substantial fan involvement and a great bond between players, fans and the club’s board. The football on the pitch was positive, attractive and intelligent. But we threw that away, and that’s the most frustrating thing. Our former owners wanted to sell and that’s fine, after their success, they deserved to be able to pass it on and make their deserved millions. But they also had a duty to the club to sell responsibly, and they completely ignored this duty, selling to the first possible group they could find, and while forcing the move through they undermined the Supporters’ Trust, completely abandoned all care for the running of the club and left us in this position. We now have owners who don’t really know how to run a football club, who appointed an unqualified pal as manager, and who left all their transfer activity so late, they ended up selling our captain and top scorer a week before the start of the season, a recipe for disaster. This rot all started around a year and a half ago when the previous board started searching for new owners. They lost all focus and as a result, the club lost its way on the pitch. We have now gone from being the model club to a chaotic mess on and off the pitch. Sound a lttle familiar. Ok Allerdyce is better than Bradley but that is not to difficult.

What a load of sh**e!!!
I started going downhill when Pardew took over. Ok we looked good when he first took over but it soon went downhill. Nothing to do with our American owners.

If we had stuck with Pardlose we'd be in the Championship next season. Allardyce will keep us up then we can build for next season.
I'd rather Allardyce than Pardew.

If it wasn't for the American's investment do you think we could have afforded to spend what we spent in the summer?

I liked pardew, think he did a good job in his time, kept us up which is my aim, took us to a cup final, but was losing to many games, think he might have kept us up, not sure if he lost the players, but think sam will be a good replacement, its about time he got to a final an won it!

Most of the money came from selling Bolasie nett spend was minimal and premier league money covers the wages. I am not saying we were perfect under Pardew just wondering how much if any input re Allerdyce Steve Parish had. Has been suggested that the Americans asked Allerdyce for a run down on what is required looking forward to see his suggestions

I agree with your comments but our net spend was the least I believe? If we had spent perhaps we could have kept Gayle and what would he be like with Benteke?

My friends, it went downhill for this reason alone; it was our time.

Football is cyclical; small medium sized clubs like ourselves rarely remain in the ascendency for very long.

We have had an astonishing time in the Premier League but it was never going to last.

Sides we aspire to be compatible with; West Ham, Everton, Southampton among them have far greater Premier League pedigree, support and infrastructure. We were bound to have a dip eventually.

If you want to work out 'net spend' that has to include wages & contract length. The changes made a huge difference to our wage bill, and that will continue for many seasons.

A lot of people on this board don't seem to be able to grasp how a wage bill, transfer budget works.

Scoring goals hasn't really been the problem this season. It's the weekly disintegration of the defence, to say nothing of the central midfield, that's been the real issue.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

The perfect club? Intelligent football?

The 'chaotic mess' you're referring to is the fault of Pardew, not the owners. And you can be damn sure Sam will sort that out.
