The 'chaotic mess' you're referring to is the fault of Pardew, not the owners. And you can be damn sure Sam will sort that out.

Agree with this...needs someone to make some big decisions!
Whether you like him or not, Sam is definately the right man to sort out the mess at Palace, and get us back on track.

I think he will start by bringing in some new players, then his own coaching staff and finally re-shape the team and get us playing a more consistent style of football.

I started going downhill when Pardew took over. Ok we looked good when he first took over but it soon went downhill. Nothing to do with our American owners.

If we had stuck with Pardlose we'd be in the Championship next season. Allardyce will keep us up then we can build for next season.
I'd rather Allardyce than Pardew.

If it wasn't for the American's investment do you think we could have afforded to spend what we spent in the summer?

Think we had a net spend under £15 million which is peanuts for a Premier League club (plus no progress on the stadium). That money spent is nothing to do with the Yank investors. Don't know where that money has gone or even it is invested in the club?

We had the perfect club, the club we had always dreamed of. It was responsibly run, with substantial fan involvement and a great bond between players, fans and the club’s board. The football on the pitch was positive, attractive and intelligent. But we threw that away, and that’s the most frustrating thing. Our former owners wanted to sell and that’s fine, after their success, they deserved to be able to pass it on and make their deserved millions. But they also had a duty to the club to sell responsibly, and they completely ignored this duty, selling to the first possible group they could find, and while forcing the move through they undermined the Supporters’ Trust, completely abandoned all care for the running of the club and left us in this position. We now have owners who don’t really know how to run a football club, who appointed an unqualified pal as manager, and who left all their transfer activity so late, they ended up selling our captain and top scorer a week before the start of the season, a recipe for disaster. This rot all started around a year and a half ago when the previous board started searching for new owners. They lost all focus and as a result, the club lost its way on the pitch. We have now gone from being the model club to a chaotic mess on and off the pitch. Sound a lttle familiar. Ok Allerdyce is better than Bradley but that is not to difficult.

Quite possibly the biggest load of s*** I've ever read on here over the years and that takes some doing.

My friends, it went downhill for this reason alone; it was our time.

Football is cyclical; small medium sized clubs like ourselves rarely remain in the ascendency for very long.

We have had an astonishing time in the Premier League but it was never going to last.

Sides we aspire to be compatible with; West Ham, Everton, Southampton among them have far greater Premier League pedigree, support and infrastructure. We were bound to have a dip eventually.

Things are cyclical yes but what you're being is defeatist. A few things could've prevented this sh1t.

Pardew not feeling a personal pressure maybe to prove himself for that extension with this expansive/transition a season or more too early.

Another left back and more than 6 defenders plus Fryers. We can afford it this month so could've in August.

Being 1 lighter in midfield. Rincon going to Juventus and us not raising our offer tells you of our lack of homework. Relied on Wilshere. Didn't get him. Flamini didn't start till December.

The Zaha/Townsend right wing issue.

The lack of leadership and example on the pitch. A change in mentality. Possibly a lack of that 'We expect this of you here' from the seniors. I know they did do that. Do they any more? That kind of thing has been eroded over a year under Pardew's watch. Nothing to do with cycles. And one of the very important parts of our DNA has gone. We used to work harder because we had to. Now we don't. Just look at Burnley and Hull away.

A lot of the above can be corrected. It is not too late. It sounds like you're waving the white flag at the halfway stage. Is that how you live life? Luckily we won't, starting with 3 points v Swansea. A

Pardew was nothing less than outstanding the first twelve months he was here.

It began to go wrong when the majority of players and Pards himself got into the habit of not performing to their optimum and still haven't.

Parish selling to the yanks is pretty rank too. No need for it. Nor, it appears, paying big bucks and £100k a week wages.

We would be just as good/bad if we had searched the lower leagues here and across Europe for talent and at a quarter of the price.

The Chairman has gone a bit Prem crazy.

Agree with the 1st 2 points.

I don't agree thereafter. You simply have to raise wages or you just load up on not quite good enough forwards and that's what we had and why we bought Benteke. Benteke is the real deal. The stuff going on behind him isn't getting the most out of him and others. The rest of the wages are £80k for Cabaye and just over £60k for the likes of Dann and Townsend.

No need for the yank money? I know you've been in Cornwall or Devon for a long time but at selhurst we have a main stand 92 years old that's the size of a 3rd tier stand thats not maximising corporate revenue, the very revenue that'll provide a bigger wage budget, and a stand under the camera nearly 40 years old and no room to swing a cat when you want to take your kids for a burger or to the toilet.

Where would the money come from for what is possibly a complicated redevelopment and restructure of selhurst then? We need to use money before the yanks come in on staying in the league so how do we pay for the ground? Mortgages or restructuring of share ownership which is what it is?

You may or may not like the ground and its parts but that isn't the point. Palace is still in many respects stuck in the previous century. It costs money to address that.

We must stay up this year and I bet if we do we're here for a long time. 2 or 3 decent signings this month and next summer and a lot of the issues of recent times will be solved. Only stupidity has cost us about 6 points and a complete refocus can get us back to that level and some.

The Yank money was around £50million quid. By next Xmas the club would have had revenues of around £250million since they were offered a significant part of it. So not vital then. Plus, absolutely nothing concrete is happening on the building of a new stand front and probably won't for many moons if ever and that £50mill will eventually disappear into various bank accounts as salary payments.

It went down hill went Pulis walked out. Up until then, everything was ticking along nicely. Premiership stability, happy owners, patient fans.
We get AP in, we have a great month then we start talking of europe.

Spoken like a true Gordon Browner. Huge financial amounts spoken about like we're awash with cash and always will be.

Revenue is vanity, profit is sanity but cash is reality.

If what you say is true we must have a lot of profit or a huge transfer budget once a few more of the deadwood leave in the summer. Somehow I doubt it.

Maybe you underestimate how much it is going to cost us to overhaul our 40-92 year old stadium, building around a supermarket. Or do we make zero plans or effort because we think it might not happen. It might not happen so do nothing rather than do the positive.

It was a great calendar year actually. After those Europe comments it's been disastrous.

Is there a possibility that the Americans might become bored/ disillusioned and seek to sell their stake?

Of course, there's also a chance Steve Parish might seek to do likewise - he must be feeling the heat.

Meanwhile, big Sam needs to enthuse not just the players but also us fans (in the same way as Klopp and Pep at their respective clubs).

I think the yanks wanting out would possibly happen if the redevelopment possibility took a huge knock back.

I can't see Parish wanting out. I think he really wants to bring the club up to scratch with the rest of the country. He only goes quiet when the results are really poor. This is a long term project and a temporary blip. He made an error, he knows it needs correcting and did so with time left for SA to do so.

There's a serious lack of belief going on here after losing away at Arsenal 2 days before a 6 pointer. I think we'll win tomorrow whereas with Pardew he'd have knackered us out, lost 2 more players due to injuries from poor fitness and got n&ff all off Swansea yet again. Probably 2 goals up with 10 to go and go for another goal and fack the whole thing up.

I do wonder where the Hillsborough and Lloyds admin mentality has gone these days. Turning into white flag wavers on here are some.
