Is there a possibility that the Americans might become bored/ disillusioned and seek to sell their stake?

Of course, there's also a chance Steve Parish might seek to do likewise - he must be feeling the heat.

Meanwhile, big Sam needs to enthuse not just the players but also us fans (in the same way as Klopp and Pep at their respective clubs).

They are in for the long haul. I know this as I do business with people who do business with them.
$50M is pocket change to them when you consider they are both worth around $2.5B.
I also think (without feeling Willo(ish))that there could be major news Re Selhurst/Stadium in the not too distant future.

Any planning applications would be in the public domain. Any 'big' news will be more about hope and potential, blahdy blah.

The stadium rebuild isn't going to happen. £80million plus a year on salaries will see to that.

Haven't discussed this with anyone at the club but my understanding is that our wage bill for this season is around the £55 Mill mark.

That said, the stadium re-build will only be possible if we remain in the PL and to remain in the PL we need a significant sum on wages/transfers etc etc.

The wage bill was officially £70mill Willo 2014/15 accounts. That's all staff. It can only have gone skywards since then.

Thank you for that.I was more thinking about player wages.I tend not to get too involved in the finance side of the club, I'm football focussed !

Kermit,

If we didn't know you we'd start to suspect you were about to verge on trolling. In one post you say we didn't need the us investment because of massive revenue. Then you say the wages are eating all the revenue up. You need to gradually pay more in wages or you'll disappear as players know you're not a good earner to join or stay.

Logic is taking a back seat here for you, almost as if your once in 5 year visit to the rickety 92 year old main stand with watery coffee should in no way be spoiled so you can reminisce over those days of 4,000 and losses to Shrewsbury.

Cheer yourself up, have a word, anything. We have a brilliant owner. He will try to take the club further as much as is possible year on year so all I can advise is to trust and support. He's made an error over Pardew but as long as Sam keeps us up we should be here for years.

I believe Parish still owns more than 50% of CPFC so still the majority share holder...the Americans are only part owner / investors.

Oddly enough, I have been told that the American money that has been spent so far was on things like our training & medical facilities & the (lack of) scouting network - the few things AP improved whilst he was here.

The main investment is, as everyone knows, earmarked for the stadium for which a couple of pre-planning meetings have been held. I have little doubt the LA will be wanting a truly ridiculous amount of information before even considering granting any kind of permissions. I believe that SP will tell us all when he has something confirmed.

I think you'll find that Parish, Harris and Blitzer all hold 18% each and the four original members of CPFC2010 still own more than 50% between them.

Maybe you're right, and that's stuff that's necessary to bring us into this century and competitive, and just maybe the next Keiron Gibbs signs for us and not Arsenal.

Or maybe it was the US money used because the Prem money comes in instalments so instead of waiting for those instalments which are guaranteed to come, we used cash sitting in the back already. I don't know, but I doubt what you've listed comes to £50 million. Highly doubtful.
