I do think that HT at Swansea was a way for the fans to get some frustrations off their chest. It was a low point. In a way I felt better for it, and by the way so did the team by the looks of it as the second half performance was far, far better. I really believe that's out of our systems now, it's time to get behind the team and the manager.

Interesting to hear Parish say he's disappointed in his own performance and suggest the board got complacent. Praying this means big transfer backing this month.

You have to remember it's not just transfer fees. Players will expect a decent contract and if it says your wages are cut if we are relegated they won't come anywhere near SE25....that's going to be the main problem...other than players not wanting a club that's fighting relegation.

Great interview as ever from SP. Always honest, and above all - like us, he feels the pain when things aren't going well. He deserves our trust. Since he has been here, he has barely put a foot wrong. Like he says, he's never felt pressure like he feels right now and as the best Chairman in my lifetime that we've had at the club by a country mile, he deserves all of our backing and support. We can sit here and feel sorry for ourselves. We have had terrible calls from referees, we have had terrible injuries but as SP says we all need to be focused on what we can all do to turn it around - by all, he means himself, players, fans - the whole CPFC family. I've been guilty with falling out with fellow supporters during this horrific run, and I'll never be an Allardyce fan, but he's here and we've all got to back him before it's to late. A break from it all this weekend is welcome relief, and the Bolton match shouldn't mean anything to us win, lose or draw. Effectively it's a training ground match to help with the preparation for the 18 huge matches just around the corner. I was pretty low after Swansea, but SP has done his job and I now feel confident that we can get out of this mess and continue to progress but it will only happen with 100% from everyone including the supporters. It might be a good idea if all those who rush to make negative comments follow that example. I would suggest everybody wait at least 24 hrs before posting if we have had a poor game like Swansea. Thanks to Hambo and the Holmesdale Radio team for organising that. I was as miserable after the Swansea game as I've been for many years and Steve Parish's realistic but positive outlook was a tonic. It also reminded me just how lucky we are to have someone of his calibre looking after Palace. We've got 18 "cup finals" to secure our Prem status, so here's hoping the fight back starts with three points at The Hammers.

Not for anyone starting 'We're down' or 'Who do we buy for the championship' threads. No one. The last time the support went a bit dead like this was admin and Paul Hart's mammoth task with only Calvin Andrew for how many weeks it was. At that time we gave excessive encouragement to chase down a goal kick or throw in when it looked like there wasn't any hope of making it. I can't think of an equivalent because at this level they should do that but you see my point. So that's it. Anyone intent on being a boo boy needs to be hushed, instantly. Every point could be crucial and that match they're booing could be one we drop more points we could've won. Anyone who doesn't like SA, fair enough. But keep your personal and pathetic banners at home or hidden up your self satisfied &rse. Our future is more important than your attention seeking. I honestly think the high point in many ways for our support was Preston at home towards the end of that season.
Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |
