Reduce emissions (greenhouse gas) as much as you like, the planet will get warmer. Mans effect on that warming is as much as you pissing in the ocean will raise sea levels. What do you base this on?

Basically Tim, you don't have any expertise in this area, so maybe best to stop making sweeping statements about it.

And now it seems that Man(kind) made it so. Scientists know that there has been more CO2, and methane, in the atmosphere millions of years before humans. He was a precursor to you and I. And I do think that we are damaging the planet, irreversibly. But since I, or you, don't live in poverty in the Amazon area, I feel I have no right to take away their right to have access to freedom from poverty. They only have one way to do that. By acquiring money. They also only have one way of getting that money. ie. sell the wood, (to 1st world countries), then farm the land for produce to sell (to 1st world countries). That's us, in case you missed the point. You shout for equality and planetary stability, whilst sucking on the same tit that we all do. The one that isn't available to the truly impoverished, not the scumbags who live in 1st world countries who whinge about having to work for the privilege of health.

I forgot to say (sorry got distracted), I don't think that anything we do will change what has already happened. It cannot be reversed, it is happening. It will continue. Whatever we do. It may go into recline, it has in the past, it may accelerate. It's done that too. But whether we have or have not been complicit in the climate change is moot. It is here. It is happening. And any amount of money is useless to stop it. Much like praying for it to stop. We could stop all CO2 production tomorrow, but the effect would be nil. Ask your scientist mates.
