Actually he's had neither. He's had four games in a very short space of time.

Today wasn't about beating a league one side, it was about looking at some of the squad players.

Totally.

And I don't remember Pardew knowing how to beat Swansea the last time we played them, so brauhstoneagle comments are stupid to say the least.

As always on HOL there's those that refuse to back the club.

Sad.... how people want to make out the mess we're in is sams fault.

Sad and stupid...

if pardew was still in charge people would not be making such flimsy excuses thats for sure.

If Pardew was in charge then it's not very likely a clean sheet would have happened.

What with clean sheets not having been a priority and all.

I've no doubt Pardew sent teams out trying to win games. Just so happens that he wasn't very good at it.

Just back from the game , living locally and there were some positives. Remy looked good and will I think work well with Benteke and Flamini was solid and Kelly was not out of place at centre back.
Our midfield of Chungy. Mutch and Ledley were dreadful no creativity at all. Campbell ran around like a headless chicken. Cabaye came on and made no impact. BFS has learnt we have no quality in the backup players. We had a lot of play as Bolton just stood off us but our lack of creativity and width meant we were unable to take advantage. Remember they are two divisions below us albeit in good form.
Nice touch at the end Flamini climbed over the barrier despite the protests from a steward and gave his shirt away and Jules threw his gloves into the crowd,
Apart from that we have a long way to go to keep in the Prem.

Cheers Brinscall , good summary , did the kids enjoy the day ?

His overprioritisation of the FA Cup is one of the reasons why we are in the mess we are in.

[Link] Julian Speroni spoke of the "honour" of breaking a Palace record and his love for the fans after the Eagles' 0-0 draw at Bolton Wanderers.

When reminded of his record-breaking 389th appearance for the red and blue, Speroni was delighted, saying: "Say that again, because I can't believe it!

"It's an honour for me. I never thought I was going to get to this number back in 2004 when I signed for this club - the fact that I'm here now is just amazing. I've been blessed. I've said it before I've been blessed with the people who work at the club, with teammates, and I couldn't be happier."

Speroni shut out a threatening Bolton side, winning his 108th Palace clean sheet, something he said added to the occasion.

"It was even better, it made the day perfect," he said. "Sadly we couldn't win it late on, but we're looking forward to the replay at home.

"It's always a boost in confidence when the team keeps a clean sheet, not only for the back four and the goalkeeper but the whole team. We keep a clean sheet as a whole team and that helps us to move on to the next game, hopefully we'll get more clean sheets and that's what we need, that's what our focus is on and I'm looking forward to that [next game]."

A boisterous away support sang the legendary goalkeeper's name throughout the Third Round tie, and he was incredibly thankful for that.

"I can't thank them enough. I just don't know what to say... They keep amazing me," he enthused. "The love I get from them every time I step on to the pitch. I threw my gloves into the stand and I wanted to throw my shirt, then I remembered my wife wanted my shirt and I thought 'I better not do it because she's going to be mad!' I want to give them everything. Every time I step on the pitch I want to give them everything, because that's what they deserve."

It's a bit concerning though that attitude and performance have not improved much at all and may have even gone backwards since Allardyce's appointment, don't you think?

It's very unusual for a new manager to come in when a team is not getting results and for the performance to stall or even get worse as is happening at the moment.

Sam may be the wrong guy for the job. We'll know within six or seven weeks.

What a guy. Quite emotional reading that. He deserves the support and more

I wouldn't have got rid of AP because I liked the way he wanted to play.

But he has gone and I look to see where we go next. So we have BFS, the results and performance may get worse to start with as it'll take time for players to change how they play, but he will get results and the style of play won't be that bad.

I have no doubt he'll keep us up and we won't have any issues next season.
