I thought the lady commentator was excellent. Probably even better than John Motson

Not so confident now I read that BFS is going to talk to Steve Parish today/tomorrow about who he needs this window.
If that is right then ten days in to the window we don't even know who we want.
I do understand that as in BFS has only just arrived but why was Pardew not sacked earlier giving BFS time to work it out.
We are making it so difficult for ourselves.

I think you may be over-analyzing the wording here. It would astonish me if - before he was appointed - BFS hadnt given Palace a list of players wanted or budget needed to strengthen the team otherwise he wouldnt have joined us.

Its inevitable having established what was needed that there would be ongoing discussions between the two

Yep. On the basis that it's being widely reported we've had two offers turned down today I think it's safe to say the transfer strategy was in place already.

Perhaps SA has a list of players he 'needs' and another of those he 'wants' - two very different things.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

He has already said they would sign the first player, then move on to the second and maybe a third.

Do we think Remy could play in a "10" role, or is it more likely to be as part of a 3 with Townsend(?), Benteke & Remy therefore moving out towards the wings at times? On the evidence of Bolton, maybe Sam would try a front two of Benteke & Remy,as he did with Remy & Campbell, but that seems more risky due to the way most teams set up these days.
