Not sure why we need this guy. Is Sam going to play with three center halves? I'd have preferred a forward.

We need to stop letting goals in ,a cb is a must. 20m is a good price these days! Tomkins was 10m and looks pretty average! If we stay up he'll be a bargain!

I'd say our biggest problem is retaining the ball and pressuring the opposition backs. When you can't do that, your defence has more to do and will let in more goals. Fitness looks to have been a problem too.

Apparently his agent was spotted earlier in London and now Sakho, so something is definitely happening! - But no guarrantee of success of course yet come 11pm today

Jamie Rednapp with a glowing recommendation on Sky sport: REDKNAPP HAS SAKHO DOUBTS Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp has questioned Mamadou Sakho’s suitability for Crystal Palace amid speculation over a move from Liverpool. “If Liverpool can get £20m for Sakho that is great business,” he said. “Do Palace need him? I looked at Palace’s back four and think do they need reinforcements? “Sam Allardyce has just got to work with what he has got. Sakho can make a lot of mistakes, be very rash, so I am not sure if that is what Palace need right now “Sam has to be very careful how he manages that situation.”

Sakho is actually pretty good on the ball and can be very comfortable. If the aim is still to build from the back then he's a good starting point. He had some of the best pass completion stats for any of the Liverpool players last season (in the high eighties %). But £20m? For a player who Liverpool have said won't play for them again and who hasn't played a single minute of competitive league football for over 6 months? And then after that to have to pay him >£105k a week (presumably the same for a loan deal)? Doesn't sound like something we'll be doing this window.

Looks like he's gonna fall over every time he gets the ball, very rash, agreed he looks like there is potential but right now he is not what we need and especially not for a sum of 20 mil.
