The problem is really, most fans are only looking at the last year and a half under Ranieri. He's been out of favour and only really had either cameos from the bench or covered for the odd injury.

Like many players, to gain consistency you need to be playing regularly. That will be our fans biggest critisism his consistency.

How do you get that without a good run of games in one position? Under Ranieri he's been left back, left winger, right winger striker, support striker. He's been used all over the shop. You will never get the best out of someone like that.

On top of that, you can see he's grown frustrated with lack of time and wanted out. To the point where it was clear his heart was no longer in it.

Our fans have slated Musa, and he's in the same boat. Not had a run of games, not had time to bed into one position, been played all over the place.

So, if I'm reading this right, at worst we have an inconsistent, very quick utility player and at best, a player with bags of potential who can kick on, once he plays consistently in one position to become a top player?

I'd say so yes.

Yet another Leicester fan here just thought I'd offer my thoughts on Jeff.

Don't be too put by the comments on foxestalk. He has become the fashionable player for the negative posters to moan about, He has been a massive part of our recent success from winning the championship in 13/14 to the great escape of 14/15 to the title last year.

In terms of his involvement last season he started the season as our first choice left back but was dropped for Fuchs after a 5-2 home loss to arsenal. He then played on the left wing and was probably neck and neck with albrighton in terms of getting starts but he then injured his hamstring which kept him out the side for a decent chunk of the season and by the time he was fully fit albrighton had established himself as Claudio's main left winger. So for the remainder of the season he was used mainly as an impact sub but he frequently came on and changed the pattern of games. Overall I would probably have him as the player who contributed the 12th or 13th most after the 11 regular starters and maybe ulloa.

He still had some massive moments last season including the penalty he won and west ham and this incredible goal at Norwich away (which he started as a winger and was motm)

[Link]

This season he started the season injured and missed most of pre season he did get a couple of starts and too be honest was dreadful and was keeping our young English prospect demari gray out the team hence a lot of the negativity but anyone with half a brain could realise that he was playing his way back to fitness.

All in all I can't see why any of you would not be excited by this he's young, direct, lighting quick, propably the most athletic player I have seen down leicester. He is versitaile can play left back, wing back or winger.

I would have liked to keep him (as would Claudio, he said as much in a recent press conference) but we are well off when it comes to wingers. He is behind Albrighton, Mahrez and now gray in the pecking order and I have heard a couple of rumours that his attitude hasnt been great since falling out of favour so it is propably a good move for all 3 parties in this deal.

All in all I think with a run of games and a manager who believes in him he could be a top player.

I can't remember the last time we had such insightful, objective and well-informed contributions from supporters of other clubs concerning players being transferred to Palace. Much appreciated!

Honestly, he sounds made for Palace. Bolasie flourished here but his fitness dropped under Pardew even though he did develop in other areas, most of his development was under Freedman and Pulis. Allardyce I think is much better at managing players fitness, health etc, which is what players with a lot of muscle and athleticism need. Players like Schlupp, Bolasie, Sako, do better under managers like Allardyce or Pulis. Matt Phillips is another, he would have become a lumbering liability under Pardew, Pulis keeps those players fitter.

Like i said yesterday. Sometimes it takes a good coach to bring the best out in a player. We can all attest to what Conte did with Victor Moses.

If Big Sam get Schlupp back in the good form he was in under Nigel Pearson. Schlupp will be fun to watch.

It's a big if but if Evra does join Palace then Schlupp might be coming in as a left winger rather than a LB...it's conceivable wouldn't you say?

Yes, that’s true. Schlupp can also play on the wing.

Does it mean Big Sam will play 3 4 3?
